Egyptian Banding & Magicians

This is an interesting idea. I just happened to notice that Jannes, Jambres, and Pharaoh's Magicians were all Egyptian magician EC's and they could all band together, so I stuck in other banding Egyptians and Magic Charms and...well, take a look at what I have so far.

EC's
Egyptian Archer
Egyptian Charioteers
Egyptian Warden
Egyptian Wise Men
Jambres
Jannes
King So
King of Tyrus
Pharaoh's Magicians
Salome

EE's
Egyptian Horses
Enslaved by Egypt
Lies
Mask of Fear
Moses Kills Egyptian
Ruthless
Spreading Mildew
Swift Horses
Wonders Forgotten

Lurking

Artifacts/Curses
Darius' Decree
Magic Charms
Unholy Writ

Unknown Nation
Confusion of Mind
Captured Ark

Fortresses/Sites
Kingdoms of the World
Pharaoh's Throne Room
Wall of Protection

Egypt

I'm not quite sure what kind of offense I want to go with this, but I was thinking I would try red, seeing as it also has a banding theme. Do you think this strategy would work?

It'll work well until you run into a Priests offense and none of the capture stuff works.

Or until you run into a TGT deck and all your ECs get captured by Women as Snares, and you get ignored despite PTR's protection against ignore.

You mean like Gabe's Teal/TGT deck?  ;D

This is very cool. Maybe shrink it and make it self capture and pair it with a strong offense.
As a national champion, I support ReyZen deck pouches.

Spreading Mildew and Kingdoms of the World solve both of those problems and are effective against other types of decks as well.

Right, I forgot about Spreading Mildew, and I think KotW would be a good add also...even though that would be a lot of fortresses.

About to be updated.

It's just foolish not to use Given Over to Egypt, or whatever that new Curse is, in an Egyptian deck.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

I might put that in, but it would certainly depend on what kind of offense I had. I've played a number of Egyptian defenses, and I rarely ever get lucky and discard something my opponent actually needs, so I'm reluctant to put in any deck d/c.

At worst, it's not benefiting you. At best, you snipe a Dom. That's a hugely disproportionate cost/benefit if you ask me.

At worst, it is not benefitting me and its slot (both in the deck and on the artifact pile) could be used up with a better card. At absolute best, I'll snipe a dom, but the chances of that happening are like 1/10, and I don't like those odds.

Imo, Take up an art slot or just add Egyptian Spear and 1 out of 10 games you'll snipe a dom =) (I think the odds of hitting a dom are slightly higher than 1/10 just because alot of cards search for cards, most of which can't target doms)

Actually the chances are anywhere from 1/5 to 1/7 unless your opponent is a n00b and doesn't use many Dominants.  That's not even accounting for all the other great cards it might discard from the top.  Pol is right, it's a great card for any Egyptian defense.

Well you guys can go ahead and make your own deck using this idea if you want, since I don't have enough time to make decks nowadays.

I officially relinquish all rights to this defense concept.
