So I'm curious as to how a green side battle offense works. Obviously Visions and Sword of the Lord are both essential, but what artifacts/characters/etc. are traditionally used to back them up?
-
You can't base an offense completely on side battles. Just take a basic green offense and add those cards in. Then, make sure you can do some fun stuff on defense.

How many side battle cards are there in offense?
Sing and praise
Sword against sword
Cup of wrath
Sword of the L
Visions
Any others Im forgetting?
I agree you can't base your whole deck on the side battles. I use a deck d/c defense, using HT to deck d/c at the same time, then use visions/Sword toi let my defense d/c even more.
-
Actually you can. I'm not sure what these two n00bs are talking about. :D
But seriously, I'll PM you with an idea I've been tossing around.
-
The key to side battle decks is that you don't make a side battle offense. To work, it has to be a side battle deck. One of my favorite things to do is make a side battle and then play Death of Unrighteous because it discards their Evil Character they were using while making so that they have nothing to rescue on the following turn.

i would say for your defence use a suacide defence im curent using one and having fun if you do lots wife + babel + joseph in prison = no defence for them and then you can go in and have free lost souls ;D
Austin, that IS NOT what they are talking about.
-
If there's an offense that works with side battle, it's judges, not prophets. You can use three of the five side battle cards and with a little finagling, you can get recursion going. Or you could play Training in Righteousness on Deborah and take advantage of the other two and maybe Hidden Treasures as well.
-
Please read before posting, he didn't ask for a defense.
I meant you can't use ONLY side battles, you need some other enhancements obviously ;). A gold/Green deck would be able to use all the side battles wouldn't it?
-
I think so. It could work well with a site-lock defense too since you could use Edge of the Sword and Vengeance of Eternal Fire.
-
No. Cup of Wrath.
-
And Syrians, Gold Shield, House of Rimmon, ANB....
;)
-
No. Cup of Wrath.
Soldier of G/Seeker?
-
Yeah that'd work.
I built a concept of this with a really fun side-battle like defense as well. Crimson site lock to be exact. I haven't tested yet, but I think it might work ok, not great, just ok.
-
If you wanna use side battles on def, i'd suggest gold.
-
I used Crimson as it helped sites more.
-
Hm, true crimson does do better for site lock.
-
yeah and Rehoboam and Christians suing another worked enough for me as side battles.

I like the idea of a deck like this. The offense kills their offense and the defense kills their defense. That being said, there are some fun things you could include.
King Rehoboam + Purple or Silver Hero + In The Clouds
Hidden Treasures + Sword of the Lord + Women As Snares
-
I do like the In the Clouds combo, but it didn't really fit color wise.
Women as Snares wold be nice. Maybe coupled with DoU?
-
Women as Snares only works for blocking. Believe me, i"vetried for years. :)

Doh! Using cards like Confusion, Pagan Sacrifices, and Set Fire are fun in side battles.
What if you used a multi-brigade defense and played Babel to band in their guys + your own The Jeering Youths and played Death of Unrighteous?
-
:-*
-
I don't even know where to begin with the above paragrpah.
-
but they are the only thing that can get back somerealy good cards
Wrong. ;)
-
Wrong again. Blue has four negates, musicians have 3 I believe.
-
And blue has crazy wicked recursion.
