Philistines are better if you actually use a defense and not just 4-5 cards. Their characters are all auto-block potential, and they have tons of negates, not to mention Wrath of Satan.
We will have to see how it plays out. If I get consistently beaten by a Babylonian deck I will vote for them but my confidence is in Phillies now.
Babylonians are clearly stronger, but Philistines can get you more bang for your buck under 10 cards.
Philistines have the big goliath/Lhami/Shaph combo, But there are a lot of good pink enhancements...Overall Philistines win.
Since Chronic already gave a legit response it might be interesting to have this discussion now that the new set is out.
I would have to go with phillies here...not only do they have a protect fortress that holds Altar of Dagan, they have Philistine Priests, one of the most underrated philistine cards. I also think that black is stronger as a defense than crimson, with plenty of discard, interrupts, and captures(although crimson has them beat as far as captures). They also have Fallen Warrior and Philistine Outpost...if your characters die, you can choose which one is needed for the current battle. Even with red making a comeback, no one really plays those that remove and discard philistines, and if they do, Temple of Dagon protects them. Philistines all they way!
