It seems to me like a defense such as this could be very effective; see what you guys think.

Fallen Warrior
Goliath
Lot's Wife
Philistine Armor Bearer
Philistine Priests
The Twelve-Fingered Giant
  Babel
  Bringing Fear
  Danites Attack
  Foolish Advice
  Joseph in Prison
  Net
  Pride of Simon
  Worship of Milcom

Saph
  Gold Shield
  Namaan's Chariot and Horses
Lahmi
  Wonders Forgotten
Ishbibenob
  Great Image
  Midianite Attack

Sites
Babylonian Banquet Hall
Babylon x4
Ashdod
Pergamum
One non-DR access fort depending on offense

Protection
Temple of Dagon
Altar of Dagon
Color Guard LS (on Pergamum of course)
Use the Mad Bomber to rescue his Province.

9 ECs is good
13 EEs is way too many
8 sites is good (assuming a 63 deck)

I agree the Dagon stuff isn't worth it

I agree that until the protection of TexP comes out Philistines won't be viable at the top levels.

Yeah, just wait for the next set. This is close to the defense I'll be using.  ;D

I guess it's probably the best idea to just shut my face about deck ideas until I get an idea of what's in the next set. :P

Unfortunately RR was correct, and therefore Phillistines will probably continue to be avoided by top decks despite some nice new cards.

Who needs protection when you can recur them?

You can only recur from the discard pile, and there are other places where they will end up instead.  And if you think I underestimate them, then make a deck with them and lets play :)

For the record, I used a Philistine deck before they were cool...(i.e. before TexP came out)  ;D

Being that I rarely play T1 2P, I only played it in one tournament but it did fairly well, and it held its own in several online games I played also.

Here is the defense portion of the deck:

Grim Reaper Dominants: 3
   Burial
   Christian Martyr
   Destruction of Nehushtan

Red Sites: 1
   Ashdod

Purple Sites: 1
   Pergamum

Artifacts: 1
   Unholy Writ

Curses: 3
   Captured Ark (Crimson)
   Go Into Captivity (Crimson)
   Unknown Nation (Yellow)

Crimson Evil Characters: 1
   Ishbibenob

Gold Evil Characters: 1
   Lahmi

Black Evil Characters: 5
   Fallen Warrior
   Goliath
   Philistine Armor Bearer
   Philistine Priests
   The Twelve-Fingered Giant

Gray Evil Characters: 1
   Saph

Brown Evil Characters: 1
   Delilah

Multi-Color Evil Enhancements: 1
   Torment

Crimson Evil Enhancements: 1
   Midianite Attack

Gold Evil Enhancements: 1
   Wonders Forgotten

Black Evil Enhancements: 3
   Bringing Fear
   Foolish Advice
   Goliath's Spear

Gray Evil Enhancements: 2
   Balaam's Disobedience
   Namaan's Chariot and Horses

Brown Evil Enhancements: 2
   Gibeonite Trickery
   Haman's Plot

Definitely going to be revamping this deck with TexP for the upcoming season!

Have you checked the REG?
Have you looked it up in ORCID?

T1.  I'm not really very good at T2, and I haven't thought through whether Philistines would be viable in that format.

Ok. My deck for t-1 is less polished, but I still like it a lot. My RTS computer is fried right now. Once it gets back up, Ill get the deck on there and play you with it.

I just want to have 5 Garrisons, 5 Armorbearers and a few other giants. It's nice to have that many generics.

5x Armorbearer isn't worth it. Only one unique is even worth recurring.
