It depends on how big the deck is, how big the defense is, and how big you want the offense. Samuel has a little bit of synergy with GoS defenses, with King Saul and if you opt to splash him in, even though he isn't an Israelite king, Abimelech. Samuel's speed also helps get GoS set up faster, which is, for obvious reasons, crucial. At the same time though. most Samuel offenses require a hefty card amount, and you'll end up having to choose between speed or power on your offense. If you have ways to recycle Samarias (Death of Unrighteous maybe ANB to use on Samuel and a green David), then you can afford to use speed on the offense and focus on Sam, then just use Samarias to wipe out the opponent's defense if you need to.

Woah, where are you getting that Saul is not an Israelite King?  He has the identifier "King (Israel)" according to the REG, and, you know, reigned over all of Israel.

You misread my post. The statement in parenthesis is for the character I mention after King Saul, namely, Abimelech.
