Wait, so you're saying that you'll put Sowing the Seed on a sadducee, then before it's converted set it aside with Doctrine like Leaven, so it becomes a hero while in set-aside?  Because Miraculous Handkerchiefs doesn't protect Evil Characters.
Quote
Play As: Heroes in holder's territory and set-aside area are protected from poisons, diseases, and discard special abilities. Delay the effects of all poisons and diseases currently effecting holder's Heroes.

Not sure what you meant, but it sounds cool.  I hope it works ;)

I think High Priests' Palace covers that case.

No no no

I play sowing the seed on some random Sad. Then I play Doc like Lev on one of my good Phari's like Gam, Nico, or Paul with mirac hankies up so the set aside hero doesnt die. And the idea is that I have a never ending amount of good and evil characters after that.

Wow, thats a really cool idea!  I'm assuming you would have never ending Evil Characters as you expect your opponent to defeat some of your newly converted heros in battle so they are discarded?

I also assume that you play Doctrine Like Leaven while blocking a rescue attempt, as you can not otherwise set aside your hero with the enhancement.

Yeah you got that right. The only problem with the deck ive seen so far besides the Mirac Hankie getting discard is its some what lack of enhansments, but the mass amounts of characters I think should more then make up for that.

If this is so critical for your deck, then why isn't a temple and LotS in there?

I don't think I am Sustainer has any effect in the set aside area.  Handkerchiefs specifies set aside areas so that is why that is helpful.

So I feel like I'm missing something obvious, but doesn't Doctrine as Leaven specify "generic Evil Character" of the type set aside? I'm confused as to how you can recur heroes that are neither generic nor evil with Doctrine...

Doctrine Like Leaven
Type: Evil Enh. • Brigade: Black/Gray • Ability: None • Class: None • Special Ability: Set aside a Pharisee or Sadducee and decrease it 0/1 per turn. Each upkeep phase, search your discard pile for a generic Evil Character of the type set aside. Place it in your territory.

"type set aside" = "Pharisee" or "Sadducee"

Right, but what about the part that specifies that the character searched for has to be generic and Evil? Gamaliel, Nicodemus, and Paul are neither of those.

BUT, if you use that +sowing the seed in your own territory....

Don't worry, it wasn't obvious to me when I first saw it either.  Isildur is a step above the rest when it comes to brilliant combos.  Maybe not quite at the RR level, but then again who is? :D

as awesome as this combo is, I don't see how the defence will hold up. what happens if they have FBTN? you can't band.

Hey, that's not a half-bad question.  What would you do in a btn situation? ???  Here's an Idea: besieged.   :)

He dies, painfully. If his HOH dies that is. (kot killed his entire defense)

You mean offense. And can you use backwards shadow on heros who are being discarded from set aside?

I would say so but they would go to play. And, sorta both, sowing killed ur defense, and your offense was well XD

That wouldn't help, what I meant was to use Backward Shadow on a hero you plan to set aside with Doctrine like Leaven beforehand, so you can have a never-ending supply of sadducees/pharisees without the need of Miraculous Handkerchiefs.
