Countering Phillies

So with so many people using Phillies sitelock in their defenses these days...  Would it be a good idea to splash these 3 cards?

Dodai the Ahohite - "If all your Heroes are warrior class, discard an occupied Site.  May band to Eleazar.  Cannot be negated if opponent has less than ten cards in deck."
Eleazer (K) - "Weapon class enhancements used by Eleazar cannot be negated or discarded during battle."
Eleazer's Sword (WC enh) - "Holder’s Heroes are immune to male Philistines."

I don't think a prototype Philistine defense can do anything against this combo.  Abilities are 21/10.  You have two heroes so Garrison is not immune.  TFG can't negate the band.  If all your heroes are WC, you can discard a site.  You have unnegatable immunity to all Philistines - at least, the ones usually used.  CM and UW/GIC are about the only way to defeat it.

I really don't think it's necessary. a couple more site access cards will do just as good, if not better.

Three cards that won't work against anything else is a risk, but this isn't a bad idea.

This is not viable splash in 95% of decks, but it may make red used slightly more, so thank you for pointing it out. :)

There is a red here that shuts down Philies, but he is so powerful I dare not say his name.

The thing is, Confusion of Mind and Bringing Fear will negate Caleb's ability...  Or Sibbechai's (K) ability...  At the very least, if I was constructing a WC FBTN deck with Ira and Benaiah, I would splash these 3 cards in there.

heres the problem Immune realy dosen't help anything, they would both just sit there.

Some softer couters that maybe softer but more usable inother situations are.
Isralite Archer, (normaly combo with I AM healing)
Holy grail Go out with  a charcter suicide him and then convert the ec next turn,
Seven wicked spirits,  steal thier Ec, so Philly  outpost isn't helpfull.
For pg there is women of snares, and the newer assryain guy  captuere a philistine.
any capture that allows you to caputre defense or offense,

Their weakness is what makes them so used.  An easy recursion of thier top evil charcters, and a total reliance on them (depending on how big a defense).  By killing or taking away those evil charcters severly weakns their defense.  How i approach getting past philly defenses is make an Ra almost every turn,  try to force them to don HG or some other art, pop up chariot of fire and start over.  As long as you're forcring them to use philistine garrison each turn you're doing good.  becuase i am using a BBTN deck I also have covenat with adam in deck so it forces them to play cards in order to block

Actually Immune would make a huge difference, because it's CBN Immunity.  Also, your numbers are 21/10 (8/4 Dodai, 7/2 Eleazer, 6/4 Eleazer's Sword w/ NON), so the ONLY thing a Phillies player can do with the commonly used Phillie characters is get his numbers to */22 or higher.  And that wouldn't be that easy.

Still is it worth 3 card slots to just counter philistines?

Probably not, unless your using a WC FBTN offense.  But it MIGHT be worth it to see the look on your opponent's face when he sees that you splashed those 3 cards on the blind chance you would run into Phillies  :D

Dodai's banding ability is CBN if there are <10 cards in opponent's deck.  And if these 3 cards are your only way to get past Phillies...  You've got nothing else to do but wait til they deck out   :)
