Based on the discussion here, and what I believe to be the previously optimal "Throne" deck (#Mayhem), what do you think a TToD offense that attempts to abuse Nebby looks like?

I think the offense remains very similar. It probably plays Faith with one of the cloud Daniel heroes in reserve as a "free" way to convert Nebby. Faith also gets you a Faith of  David recur. Iwould also probably run Namaans Servant Girl for the soul gen/convert. I think the defense from #Mayhem goes for a more Babylonian focused effort. With Nebby and Nergelshezzar you have two really good characters for Swift Horses. Fiery furnace has a discard ability so it can be potentially useful out of reserve as well.

I did neglect to mention that you probably need to play 1-2 more battle winners on offense to help with the Vain decks you'll see, as well as ensuring Nebby has things to play, otherwise it's not worth it.

I'm not sure which battle winners those are - maybe it's even as simple as ASP and some of the white Faith cards in reserve

Probably need purple battle winners if you want Nebby to play them off TToD though.

Right. #Mayhem is already playing the best purple battle winners....

The offense, this was jotted down and given little thought, could look something like:
Auto
Sam
David the shepherd
Shadrach
Adeb-Nego
Ahimelek
King Jehu

Faith of David
ASP
Counsel of Abbie
Not Alone
Valley of Salt

Maybe a lost anointing

YWR
Holy Grail
Brass Serpent maybe
Throne
The Great Whte Throne
I Am Creator

This gives you instant speed and set up. Convert your own Nebby or block/dom. Next rescue you have a band that’s CBI, protected from Discard (CM that was used as a counter to Nebby) and lost souls are protected (stopping chumps that was the second counter given) with a Nebby to play Counsel of Abbie/Valley of Salt. ASP then goes and gets counsel again if needed. Pretty simple. I’m not worried about Nebby so much in t1, but when you can have 2 in main deck and a 3rd in reserve in t2 and have 2 of each Daniel heroes with foretelling angel and searching plus auto Sam David, this sets up quickly and stays out. You now have a soul protecting, no discarding, cbi band that can draw and play and you can’t do anything about it. Worse things have come out before so this might not be an issue and trust me when I say I will attempt to abuse this all year, just giving everyone a fair warning of the potential, and simple, recurring monster.
The defense would include the deceiver/TaS and some chumps/babs. You don’t need to have a Daniel hero out and block with nebby, you don’t have to have all the cards, this deck gets it out itself.
This offense utilized the “cheese” rescues that won rather easily at nationals last year. Now you give it a protected/stop chumps inish that tosses the first. Even IF I don’t have an enh to play OR you 3w my Throne, I can add in the other Daniel hero (Meshach) and now I toss and or prevent and have a massive, hard to touch band that takes you 2 enhs to get even ATTEMPT to get rid of. Also, if I don’t have the pieces I can RA with David, Not Alone off Throne with Ahim and Faith of David Jehu/Ahim to get an easy rescue.

I will be playing a Daniel offense with Nebby in t2 this year.

Is this not a good opportunity to bring back the White/Purple Transfiguration style offense?  Both Moses and Elijah have multiple options with the versions that will be available.  I know Nebby can't play white off throne but he doesn't always need to.  You could play RoD or WoE to interrupt/draw/play any of the white or purple battle winners.  Pharaoh's Daughter helps with that too as does David, God's King if you were able to use the star ability to add white to him.  Covenant with David can pull Nebby or Fiery Furnace as well.
May you prosper greatly!

Seems like Love (EC) to convert Nebby or to heal if he gets CM’d as a Hero. City of Refuge might be good too.

My throne deck ran crimson and Nebby fits in seamlessly imo. I’ll pull up the list and add it.

As far as “best Throne deck” I believe that it is still debatable.  A Mark Underwood slow play game against a first year player got #mayhem into top cut. Without that timeout Brandon Frank is in the cut and #mayhem doesn’t even make it to the dance.

That said the incorporation of counters and super fast ways to get them out (darkness, lawless) was a brilliant plan. In both games John had Poz turn one. In the first one he also had GotW turn one and got it turn 2 in our second game. He also got to go first in both games.  Just clarifying  8) :P

I'm fairly certain I went second in our top-cut game. I know for sure on your first turn I used CM on Auto pre-battle. I'll see if I can find my notes to be sure.

Regardless I agree that for Nebby to work the defense has to look a lot like Josiah's.

I remember why John got in and our conversations, when I said Throne I was mentioning at both of your decks with relative ease. No disrespect to anyone else but I thought the winner of Nationals would come from yours and Johns game because Brian always gets second place lol both Throne decks are and were amazing, throw in Nebby and he plays your battle winners without an issue. After continuing to look at the new Daniel offense I’m not even concerned with Nebby, the Daniel band is just scary.

No disrespect taken just clarifying for the good of all . . . Or my belief in my own build lol

Havnt looked at the Daniel band too much. Are you referring to Nats Promo Daniel banding to Neb as a hero?

@john you're correct I forgot about that. It felt like going second after the CM haha.

The new band of Shad, Abed, Daniel alone gives you a CBI band that protects lost souls from evil cards, protects Daniel heroes from discard, negates ECs, negates NT enhs, negates forts, and can them look at a hand or band to another Daniel hero. So end with Michael if you want for CBN or just peep at their hand. Oh can also throw in Meshach to prevent the next enh (unless it’s Daniel reference) and/or Nebby who tosses the first one they play. So yeah, that’s a great band. 4x Love Righteousness to pull that puppy out immediately and hit the ground running.
