Heroless?

Okay, so I get the main theme of this deck (use as much defense as possible and have about 7 battle-winners) and why Saul/Paul is the central character (CBP/I/N enhancements), but it seems a rather shoddy strategy for continuous great play. I mean your opponent (unless they're complete n00b) will have Christian Martyr and Angel of the Lord in their deck. Since they will more than likely take out S/P with one of the two, doesn't that put your entire deck out of commission?

Also, what would a "standard" Heroless deck look like? I didn't get much into the craze when it was popular, and never really looked at Heroless decks, but now I'm curious to try it.

KoTW and healing enhs. Grapes and/or Darius's Decree really kill heroless though.

I'm assuming you mean WA KotW. How does D's Decree kill it?

Are there generally "back-up" Heroes in case something like that happens?

Or the Priests.

There may be a new face of heroless, but heroless I knew intended to set Paul aside with Built on the Rock to protect him from a bunch of stuff and then walk in and Reach+AOC their entire defense (+ Zeal + Words + T Blast + Whatever else. Just incase they had chars in their hand). Darius' Decree will discard Paul before Built on the Rock comes back and Grapes will shuffle him, making you waste another convert and nullifying Built on the Rock.

7 battle winners? Seems a bit over-kill to me. Using healing cards like brass serpant or backwards shadow. Also hiding S/P in your hand helps with AOTL, using VERY annoying evil characters draw AOTL.

Actually neither of those will kill it if you use Obadiah's caves.

Thanks for the help. Though I would be looking more to stay in a "gray" area since that's what color Saul is.... Plus he would blend in a little so the opponent might not catch on until he already used an important card or something.

Well you can use almost any color (PG alludes me) for heroless, gray, black, brown, crimson, gold, and Orange (be very careful with orange)

I was never much for Orange or PG.... I don't think they are good defenses, like brown, black, and crimson. I personally don't think that they can be stand-alone and they are hardly worth combining......

As soon as someone can prove that Orange/PG are worthy defenses, I might consider playing them more. Until then........ Brown, Gray, & Crimson are t3h pw4g3.

Rofl are you serious? Orange was O.P. before Apostles II and now (even though GoH is no longer totally invincible, just pretty much invincible) Orange and Pale Green are through-the-roof powerful. A compact Pale Green/Orange/Brown defense should never give up a soul.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!
