Title: My new offense
Post by: Josh on August 10, 2011, 08:09:56 AM
I see no downside to stacking an offense with CBN goodness.

Arts
Silver Trumpets

Teal
Josh the HP
Phinehas
Ahimaaz
Zeal for the Lord
Jordan Interrupted

Red
David
Ahimelek
Uriah
Bravery of David
A Soldier's Prayer
Ambush

Purple
King Amaziah
Thomas
Valley of Salt

Silver/Green
Seraphim with Live Coal
Isaiah
Live Coal
Isaiah's Call

3 battlewinners that interrupt/negate and are CBN on 7 of my heroes.  One is recurrable with A Soldier's Prayer and one targets up to 6 ECs (I have 6 OT WC heroes in deck).  I also have the CBN banding/recursion combo with Isaiah.  I also can win CBN battles with Silver Trumpets/Jordan Interrupted/Ambush/Ahimelek, and right now nothing protects ECs from "Return" abilities.  Nearly every single card is CBN.

The only thing that it might need is Mustering for War/Pentecost to speed it up, but I have a feeling that Darius Decree and Covenant with Death will be wildly popular this year.  Plus I plan on going light on arts/forts/sites (with all the new counters), so I will have room for a decent-sized defense in this deck.

Thoughts?

Wow, yeah I totally forgot how awesome that card is going to be with Ahimelek.  I'll add it.

Ok, so question, if I Ambush Ahimelek, then on my opponent's turn they flip up DD, can they discard him?  Or is he "out of play" (being face down) and thus can't be targeted?

It seems a bit spread out, I might take out a brigade. Like green. That way you can add Battle Cry, Pentecost, and David's Triumph/David's Might Men, and some other stuff if you want. You also might want to add Asahel, as he can be ambushed and then banded to Ahimilek. That way you don't have to hold Ahimilek in your hand as long. There's also a stunning lack of Trumpet and Sword.

I like the way you think though. Using Silver Trumpets to band in Ahimelek is awesome.

Looking at it again, you may want to pull out Thomas and Valley of Salt.

I'm fairly certain that face down cards are only targetable by cards that specify that they target them (like Blinding Demon).

Yeah, the green doesnt really add much other than a CBN protection on hez. I'd take the green out and focus on the other brigades.

Arts
Silver Trumpets
U&T

Teal
Josh the HP
Phinehas
Ahimaaz
Zeal for the Lord
Jehoiada's Strength

Red
David
Ahimelek
Uriah
Ishmeah
Asahel
Foreign Sword
Bravery of David
A Soldier's Prayer
Ambush

Purple
King Amaziah
Thomas
Valley of Salt

Out:
Seraph with Live Coal
Isaiah
Live Coal
Isaiah's Call

In:
Asahel
Ishmeah
Foreign Sword
Trumpet and Sword
U&T

Now it's Teal/Red.  With Valley of Salt and two purple heroes that make VoS CBN.  U&T will make Red even more broken.  U&T + Foreign Sword = awesome
