The next set is still up in the air, as far as value. Although some have pondered the possibilities, you may still get a bunch of common, uncommons, and no-value rares. One box of 24 Thesaurus packs would cost about the same as one booster box of the others. Based on probability, the Thesaurus packs should earn more value. I am assuming the packs are hand-sorted because of their unique arrangement (I could be wrong). If so, you are likely to get a better mix of ultra-rares. A booster box of Priests was very unpredictable, but that means you could get 20 URs or just one. The other sets were more predictable, but that meant the booster boxes were less random and more organized. You would most likely get a comparable percentage of URs to the set.
One thing I do know is that you do not want to get booster packs from anyone on the forum who is not a pure seller (like Roy, Ken, Brad, Bany, etc.). Some people have mapped out the boxes and pulled out all the valuable cards. If you buy 45 packs that are not from a sealed box, you may not get any URs and certainly no good ones.
I am not an insider, so others may have better information. I am speaking from a purely mathematical approach with what little inside information I have gathered over the last few years.
If it were my money, I would take my chances with the new set. The new cards will certainly sell/trade well, and there is a good probability of many URs and rares that will sell/trade. You also have the remote possiblity (I'm guessing one per box) of getting a promotional card like Nicholas of Antioch.
