Giant Slayers

With the Goliath promo released I expect that a lot of people are going to start building Philistine decks. Who can blame them? He's so amazing! I thought this offense might do pretty well the first part of next year while Goliath is seeing a lot of play.

Chariot of Fire
Holy Grail
Priestly Crown
Ram's Horn
Stonghold in the Desert
Nazareth
**Caleb (red)
*David (red ki)
*Abishai
*Sibbechai
Uriah
Asahel
Ahimelek
Spy
David's Triumph
David’s Mighty Men
Jael's Nail
Bravery of David
Centurion's Proclamation
Council of Abigail
A Soldier’s Prayer
Freedom!

*Giant Slayers
**Slays Giants but he's technically not a Giant Slayer. :P

Needs Battle Cry. Nice spoilers though. I also think it's a little bit too big. I'd throw in a Council of Abigail too, as the banding fun needs more interrupts. Drop Baggage for sure...and Caleb...possibly Stronghold in the Desert too...
Also, it needs some speed...use your imagination...

yeah, the offense is beastly enough with nail, bravery, dmm, triumph, and prayer. proclamation stays because its a battle winner with built in interrupt. caleb is good though because it permanently gets rid of goliath, which is what the deck seems geared to do.

I figured Battle Cry won't work very well against Philistines (Goliath and 12 Fingers) but I guess it's good against Garrison. You're absolutely right about Council of Abigail. Trading that for Baggage.

But Caleb removes Goliath and 12 Fingers from the game... ::)

Maybe Mustering for War to add some speed?

9th out of 48 is pretty good and that doesn't attest to the fact that it was in the top 4 going into the final round!

I might consider The Might of Faith but I suppose Goliath's and 12 Fingers' abilities cannot be negated, but for others it might be helpful. And it definitely needs Buckler ;)

You have giant overkill already with David's Mighty Men, David and Abishai, and David's Triumph. With Soldier's Prayer for recursion.

Uriah

Bravery of David
I suspect Gabe is smarter than to include a card that doesn't currently exist and a few unlimited cards...there may even be a not-too-bad reprint in there, such as David or Jael's Nail...

I thought this was funny considering the fact every one still uses Phili decks :p /end rant

I would also recomend Might of Faith it helps more then you think, it saved me many times at last years nats. I like your card choices even though some are op'd :police:

In my red decks, I've never seen the need for MoF, I just use centurions. Which I would recomend

Trumpet and Sword should absolutely be in this deck.  Especially with Uriah...  I'd add Phinehas/Ahimaaz/Zeal so that you get to negate and discard a site/evil fortress (Philly Outpost - which would be even more awesome if the Philly they searched for was in battle when you TaS'd Outpost) each time you play TaS.
