Genesis/Babylonian

I have not played Redemption competitively for a year. (Most would argue I wasn't playing competitively long before that!  ;D )Anyway, I haven't faced Disciples at all, or any of the defenses built off of them. Since my time is going to be a little limited, I was wondering if, with the new releases in September, Genesis heroes/Babylonian defense was still a viable deck concept. I'm not asking for a T1 Nationals champion, just a competitive deck. This is a concept I have used and am familiar with, so tweaking it would be a quick way to get something playable soon/

(That said, my bigger concern is Booster draft. After a year out, can I still occasionally stump the experts and pull out a win here and there? I'm hoping to gear up for Regionals next year, and maybe give Shawn Capron another run for his money.)

Tin XXII of the new set gave a nice boost to Genesis + Egyptians so I would recommend that. I'm not sure how viable Genesis + Babs would be. I think they're fine if playing with the "matching" opposite brigade. Blue Genesis has Yellow Egyptians and Pink Babs have Green Prophets.

Genesis would work ok with Babylonians. If you do it, make sure you have Joseph and Abel along with Cup of Wrath, Sword of the Lord, Creation of the World, and Visions.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

Genesis/Babs works as well now as it ever did, IMO. With a bit of tweaking, I think you could do quite well and have a lot of fun with that.

Probably the only downside to Babs with Genesis is if you want to use the new Iron Pan, which stops a lot of what Genesis does best (ignoring, pre-block playing), but helps Babylonians be able to do what they do best (capture) by negating protection.

Well, artifacts are easy enough to get rid of now anyways. Also, unless you plan to splash Ezekiel, you probably won't want to have Iron Pan up all the time.

Actually, I dug out my deck and I had the wrong defense listed above. I used Babs with my Musicians deck (now sadly obsolete with the banning of my custom card, thus going back to the bad old days of no NT musicians). With Genesis I was using a Roman defense. I know Disciples had some good Roman cards, so I may go with that after looking through what I have from Disciples.

Thanks for the help. I hope to hit a tournament sometime this fall, after I get settled in my job and the busy part of marching band season is over.

Oh, Genesis/Romans? That's a whole other story. That'll rock people's socks.
