Hello. I'm new and I was wondering what in the world fortresses do!
Can anyone help me. I've looked every where!
-
They are basically a card you can set-aside and it's abilities work always. Although some have conditions, they basically add to what you have going on in battle. Make sure not to use The Garden Tomb though, that one hurts you more than helps you. ;)

Thanks alot I have one fortress that protects my deck from being shuffled. Should I put that in my deck?
-
It's hard to say, if you hate have'n your deck shuffled, then I'd say go for it. If you're not trying to discard a Lost Soul or something else, and shuffling doesn't bother you, then i'd say keep it out.

now sites on the other hand...
Nazareth (Di)
Type: Site • Brigade: Green • Ability: None • Class: None • Special Ability: Protect cards in your territory and hand from shuffle by an opponent. Protect all decks from search abilities. • Identifiers: Jew • Verse: Matthew 13:57 • Availability: Disciples booster packs ()

House in Rimmon protects Syrians from Shuffle, Capture, Discard.

Fortresses represent specific locations within the game. You place these cards on the playing surface as described on the fortress. Fortresses remain in play until they are removed by a special ability. They are identified by the fortress icon box. You may add or remove cards in a fortress as described in the special ability on the fortress.

I didn't think your deck was in territory....
-
technically yes, but that screws up redemption if your deck is in territory.
of course, Zebulun wouldn't work so it guess it is ok. :)

Hello. Sorry about that my fortress actually prevents cards from being removed from my draw pile it can still be searched/shuffled. It's Jerusalem tower.

Hello it's scoobug here and I was wondering about fortresses holding cards. I've herd of it but to my knowledge mine doesn't do that. The only fortress I have is jurusalem tower. Please help!

Some Fortresses either have special abilities, or identifiers (little text under the picture and above the verse--Jerusalem Tower doesn't have it) that allow you to Hold characters. Jerusalem Tower can't hold characters, but many other Fortresses do. If you end up getting some and you have questions about specific ones, feel free to ask them. Although, most questions like that should be posted in the Ruling Questions forum.
Here's an example of a Fortress that can hold characters:
(https://www.cactusforums.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.redemptionreg.com%2FREG%2FLinkedDocuments%2FGoshen%2520%28P%29.gif&hash=58eff9c9dc56be5636dec2626230db821e0d550f)
The ability says that you can put your Genesis and Exodus heroes that have their abilities decreased to */0 or less and hold them there, and the identifier (the thing that says "Holds any number of heroes up to three brigades") allows you to put any heroes in or take any heroes out during your preparation phase (after you draw but before you battle on your turn) as long as you put heroes of only three different brigades.
-
Ok so does that make my fortress kind of like an artifact?

An artifact you can have infinite numbers of and is nearly impossible to get rid of
