With Asahel and A Soldier's Prayer, I think Red can finally be competitive...what say you?
-
Nowai. Still no CBN battle-winners.
-
Abishai, Asahel, and Ram's Horn I think make up for the lack of CBN. Whether or not Red is competitive, it'll be a lot of fun to play, because it's different.

Whacha ya talkin aboot Teh oold reed eh beeeen muy competiteeve sinsse teh ooldeen duys.

David's Mighty Men. And in combination with Asahel, it can work very well.
But still, I don't think Red is good enough to be competitive in major tournaments.

ashael with caleb sword choose guy and play davids mighty men
-
Yeah but this is type 1 he is talking about. You can only do that combo once then it's done. There is still not enough for it to win at a high level tournament consistently.

With 2 recursion cards plus Spy for initiative, the combo could easily be pulled off at least twice. I hadn't even thought of Ram's Horn. Ram's Horn/Spy/Freedom is pretty strong.

I have been playing a Red deck lately and it has potential. Especially when I get the new cards this week.
With 2 recursion cards plus Spy for initiative, the combo could easily be pulled off at least twice. I hadn't even thought of Ram's Horn. Ram's Horn/Spy/Freedom is pretty strong.
Don't forget 1/1 Naharai for initiative and you can also throw in The Sabbath. I added a little Silver which spices things up nicely. Michael adds some cannot be negated stuff.
One way to annoy your opponent is to discard a few cards with Amiasai the Raiser, Warriors Spear, Stronghold in the Desert, and Gabriel. The Hobbit wasn't two happy when I wiped out all his evil enhancements.
And you have banding galore, don't discount "Caleb and the Boys" along with Gathering, Captain, Battle Cry and United army. Right now it is a 63 card deck with 14 hero's in it.
It started out being defenseless just to see what Red had to offer. I haven't settled on a defense yet. Went up to 63 to add in a little more defense. Right now it is Orange which is against my religion to use since I'm from MN. So I'll probably change it.

add in Jephthah and the destroyer with i am patience to go with your spy and walk in with your peter garden tomb style woot woot
-
Yeah but why? That takes longer than a Women as Snares or a ET AoC, walk in next turn. Red can probably do the same stuff just not as effective or as quick.
-
I say yes.
-
It has been people just don't like its jack of all trades style.
Btw: Gad+Pass prep = CBN battle winners
Valor of warriors placed is perty nasty too.
Not to mention being able to recur any red card is awesome.
-
Passover preperation takes too long, in 4 turns there are people out there who already have 4 lost souls decked out and about to play Son of God New Jerusalem
-
The fact is most people aren't happy with a brigade unless they can draw at least 3 extra cards per turn. So in that way, red won't win.
Asahel, David's Mighty Men and A Soldier's Prayer, however, are the best cbn splashiness ever! I put that in almost every deck I build... I'd almost say it's op'd.
-
I'd say it can win, it can be fun. but it'll take more than what it has right now to win big tournaments. I want to build a red deck sometime, but I'm waiting for some more TexP

I've been playing a lot of people trying Red (sometimes splashed with Teal) and I am still not impressed.
