Answer to Challenge TGT/Persians

My take on an under $50 deck. Total cost of Single cards $30, total cost of G/H $10. Total cost of Tin XIX (Pack only) $10 Grand total: $50 I had to cut it down even more than it was what I had up here before was about a $75 total.

7 Lost Souls: Female Only (G/H), Anti-Angel (XIX), Hand Discarder (G/H), 4x generic

5 Doms: Sog (G/H), NJ (G/H), AotL (G/H), CM (G/H), Burial (G/H),

1 Fort: TGT (XIX)

3 Sites: Media 3x

3 Arts: 4DC (1.00), Golden Calf (G/H), Temple Veil. (1.00)

6 White Heroes: Joanna (2.50), Salome (XIX), MMoJ (XIX), Mary Mags (3.00), Susannah (1.50), Lydia (G/H)

3 Purple Heroes: James (G/H), John (G/H), Parmenas (G/H)

1 Red Hero: Peter (.50)

4 White Enhancements: Words (2.00), He is Risen (XIX), No need for Spices (XIX),  Scarlet line (.25)

3 Purple Enhancements: Reach (G/H), AoC (.25), The word Spreads (G/H)

1 Multi Enhancement: Preaching the truth (G/H)

3 Brown Evil Characters:  Persian Presidents (XIX), Uzzah (6.00), Gomer (3.00)

3: Brown/Orange Evil Characters: The Bear (XIX), Prince of Persia (2.50), The Ram with Two Horns (.75)

1 Orange Evil Character: Fallen angel

6 Brown Enhancements: Wickedness abounds (.25), Gibeonite Trickery (.25), Demonic Blockade (XIX), Zeresh advises Haaman (XIX), Wickedness of the tenants (.75), Shemei's Malicious Curse (.25)

UPDATE: I've added in the suggested lost souls.  Special thanks to browarod for suggesting that I use the $10 XIX pack instead of the $15 XIX tin, it allowed me to add some better stuff.

The Premise: Well this is a deck that I just sort of threw together.  I knew that I had the G/H and XIX to work with.  TGT was the base offense and it fell together nicely all things considered.

The offense: I got in some pretty good heroes when you consider things, it has all the TGT heroes - Peter.  The enhancements are meant to support TGT with He is Risen and AoC a territory can be cleared with relative ease.  The one questionable hero here is Parmenas but when you think about it he will often draw about the same as Matthew in a Gardendisciples deck + he makes the word spreads CBN.

The Defense: G/H comes with brown and so does the TGT pack, so it seemed like the obvious choice.  Tin XIX has persians which can actually be an decent defense becasue Gomer + Uzzah work well with them.  Persian Presidents and Gomer should be able to get initiative to play most of these enhancements.  An interesting part to this deck though is that it can actually do something to counter the meta.  Golden Calf negates O.T. heroes, Zeresh advises Haaman snipes them, as does Persian Presidents (if they've been set aside) and Ram with two horns.  So before you know it Sam's banding chain isn't so intimidating after all.

The problems:  1) Speed, or lack thereof, It's got Reach, Words, Parmenas, 4DC, and Wickedness abounds, but it's still missing Pentecost and FF.  2) Lack of CBN enhancements, the only two cards with these magical words are gib trick and the word spreads (and that's only on Parmenas).  At least Wickedness of the tenants is CBP.  3) Efficiency, It just doesn't flow as well as a top deck does.

All in all I think that this could do pretty well in casual play and at a low level tournament, but what do you think, could this be competitive at the local/district level?

Unless you're trying to get lucky with some of the singles you want, I don't think the extra $5 for the packs in the TGT tin is worth it (unless you count everything else up and have $5 leftover). You can get just the set of 10 cards for $10, and that seems like it'd be more beneficial given the restrictions on this deck-building format.

Also, the female-only Soul is in the G/H deck, so that would definitely be a useful one as one of the 7.

The Hand Discard LS which comes in G/H would fit well with the Media sites.

You make an interesting point, I think I'll adjust that, it'll definitely help make the deck better.

EDIT: how does taking out Writ, Zelophehad's sin, and Red Dragon for 4DC, Peter, and Stiff necked sound?

In light of the fact that there are not objections I'm going to make the change.
