White/Crimson "Starter Deck" for T2

My friend enjoys playing T2 when I loan him a deck.  He's got a decent collection but not enough of everything to build his own T2 deck yet.  I want to help him put a deck together that will be fairly inexpensive (mostly commons and rares).  He won't have access to multiple copies of most ultras, promos, FooF and RoA.

I thought that a white Elder banding offense would be cheap, powerful and fun to play.  I know the basic plan uses lots of Elders + Blessings x 5.  I haven't ever played with this type of offense.  What else goes well with it?

On defense, I thought that crimson might be a good choice.  It offers lots of different options and has many powerful commons.  It should be pretty easy to put together a capture theme with Raiders' Camp or just some powerful FBTN with Sapphira (and Ananias) and a hand full of Midianite Attacks.  I haven't really done much with Crimson in T2 either though so I'd appreciate any advice here too.

Thanks,

Gabe

Assyrians are a easier and cheaper and in my opinion better capture deck

Doesn't that involve using a lot of FooF and RoA?

Probably, but there is a lot of FooF/ROA in Babylonians too if that's how you go about Crimson. Any defense you build could benefit from the addition of ROA/FooF but I think Crimson is a good choice even if you are avoiding those sets.

I think an Elders offense would work better with TSA + Gathering alongside Blessings so you could be FBN before they block. Otherwise there are many times when your opponent can block with Uzzah, Trembling Demon or play Death of Unrighteous, Failed Objective etc. You would want to make sure you use enough things like Captured Ark or Covenant with David to get around Household Idols.

for white i would almost go more of a women deck and not max on elders, women of wisdom, lydia, are very nice to add to any white deck, the wisdom, allows for initive to play something like josphe before pahro but has high enough numbers that blessings kills most other charecters,  that being said i would also add in a few transfiguaritions (a little expensive) but with just moses they can realy mess with a defence, if you realy want to to exploit elders/moses, add in some of the basic banding,  so you go out with one elder, bring in moses, some how they match your numbers play the banding card poof you win,

Burial, CM, SoG = 3 LSs denied.
Your opponent happens to be playing crimson, they can play enhs on King Shallum.
With Unknown Nation activated, they bring another Human EC into block with Shallum.
Lurking, The Darkness, an occupied Kingdoms of the World would all slow down or stop the King Amazing choosing King Shallow combo.
Contingency plans are a must. Just some quick thoughts.

Have you played King A? That kind of stuff doesn't happen too much, and he's just a fallback anyways, so I think he's worth it.

There are no fallbacks in type 2.

I'll just sit here and chuckle to myself.

Janissary has brought it into focus. Contingency plans? Yes, fallback plan? mmmmmm it's too late by then.

I agree that having King Amazing for a chose the blocker seems like a good inclusion.  Five copies seems a little overdone though considering you can only do it one time.

King Amaziah
Type: Hero Char. • Brigade: White • Ability: 8 / 9 • Class: Warrior • Special Ability: May choose one evil King of Israel to block. Wall of Protection has no effect. Special ability may be used once per game.

Hm...I guess I assumed since each card has the same ability, you could use each of them for one CTB.
