How do you primarily create your first version of decks?

A. Pulling cards out of collection
B. Pen and paper
C. Typed out (Excel, Word, NotePad, etc)
D. RTS
E. In your head
F. Other

For me I most commonly build my first draft in RTS (D).

Either using an excel template on my laptop and card list or using a photo app where I've loaded all the card graphics onto my iPad. Some of those decks then get put together with real cards and/or on RTS.

Some combination of B, C, and E. Sometimes D too. Pulling out cards just gets messy if I don't know exactly what I'm looking for.

I usually start with pen and paper, then make tweaks as I go through my collection and find cards I missed.

I play people like Kirk, then use Gabriel to search his entire deck, then copy that deck. The shorter method is to see what deck box the top players are using, then get the exact same box so I can do a quick switch when they are not looking.

A and F: I just have my brother make me a deck or I just use one of his. When I tried to make a deck I just pulled cards from my collection; it was a disaster...

I generally have something pop up via E and then default to A to try and pull something together. Though, I've never been a very good deck builder. >_<

Usually A, because I tend to not make decks until the night before or the morning of a tournament. It might also be necessary to note that, if it's a state+ level tournament, I'm probably pulling them out of Westy's collection rather than mine.

I used to be the in depth B/E guy planning deck months in advance. Now I use F pull random cards out of box and make a deck 5 minutes before the tourney starts.

Typically B or A. I write them down and then while I look for them or build it on RTS I find cards that would be conducive to the deck.

I usually first run through the general concept in my head. Then I pull out the cards I would want from my collection and other decks, count out how many cards I have and make cuts. I then check up on decklists of others to see if there were any important cards I might want that I missed out on. Put in any I want and move to the final cuts.

E. Usually I don't build decks unless I get a stroke of inspiration. But a lot of the time these come from just randomly pulling cards and reading through them. The other strokes of inspiration usually come from a good conversation with Andrew.

D. Redemption Table Simulator all the way. Start with Doms, Souls, Heros, GE, Arts/Forts, then ECs/EE.

Back when I still had a single card left, I was strictly A. It's the only way I feel comfortable building.

Lately I've been using the RedemptionLive Visualizer as a way to quickly look at groups of cards with a certain identifier or ability. When I see something that I find interesting (such as a potential combo), I will think it over in my head for awhile to see if I can come up with other ideas to complement that combo. If I find enough ideas that have some synergy together, I will build a tough draft on RTS. Typically I only pull the cards out once I have done at least a couple of test games on RTS.

I don't always build good decks. but when I do I prefer redemption visualizer
