Staple cards for every deck?

I know this is a bit subjective. But what cards such as dominants and lost souls and/or artifacts are standard for most decks now?

I would assume 90% of decks will include these cards

SoG
TSC
AotL
(Arguments probably start after those 3)

Humble LS
Wanderer LS
Hopper LS

(Arguements after those 3 maybe even at hopper)

Within that 90% Christian Martyr would be included IMO.

Agree on the dominants--though it's possible the real % is lower than 90% because TSC is still a hard card to obtain, but of the people with access to TSC, I'm guessing the % is even higher. That being said, I have experimented with replacing TSC with Grapes in certain decks. Three Woes is pretty close for me, but again I think Grapes is only going to get better now with multiple new side battle cards for offense.

Personally I don't think Hopper is anywhere near a staple. Though Wanderer and Humble are high on my list, I think Dull LS is the only one that I literally have on every LS list.

For Artifacts, I think Covenant of Prayer and You Will Remain are the two closest to being staples though CoP becomes less and less a staple as more Reserve access is introduced. I had several FoM playtest decks that didn't need CoP in order to get needed cards out of Reserve.

In my opinion I think the following cards can be still useful in most decks:

The deceiver
The Priest of Zeus
The Angel of the Winds
The Great White Throne
The Ends of the Earth (ROJ)
Captured Ark

+1 on The Deceiver (should be in any deck except straight Orange...and maybe even in some Orange decks that have humans in the Reserve) and Angel of the Winds (should be in most non-Angel decks).

The others definitely work in the majority of decks, but personally I wouldn't consider them necessary enough to call them staples.

I would say that nearly everyone who doesn't run TSC runs NJ.

A few that I haven't seen yet but are in 80+% of my decks:
Firefoxes
Uzzah (usually in Reserve as a Deceiver target)
Foreign Wives (Deceiver target unless she fits in with the main deck's defense)

ANB is good. Change my mind.

I'd be very interested to hear a convincing case for Shipwreck in T1.

I'd considered it this year, between Ark and Throne looking to be so strong. That said, now that R&D hits set aside I don't think it's necessary.

Yeah, i was wondering if the R&D kinda pushes Shipwreck aside. And

I can tell you from experience at regionals.  Shipwreck didn’t slow down the throne deck I played against at all.  I shipwrecked it right when he laid it down

The Woman within Child is another staple in my decks. A card that keeps getting out my good dominants with no cost? Yes, please!

hhhmm....well this is a start.  Gotta say though, that there are so many cards just from Priests, RoA, FooF through FoM that I am overwhelmed at the options...lol  Even the number of lost souls is crazy, though good. :)

To add to this, noticed the Phillies got a "big" boost with FoM (no pun intended).  So what would be a good offense against them?  I am trying to test out some defense and offense variations....not that I am that good in the cards.. :o  I feel like from RoA - FoM there are SO many cards that I am a bit overwhelmed in trying to learn them all... ???

What is it with TSC being so scarce compared to other URs...I mean I get they are URs but there seems to be a lot less print run on that card than the others.

One of the best offenses against Philistines has been Red for several years now.  Asahel can choose the blocker and get initiative easy, and Red has several CBN GEs to play (Bravery of David, David's Triumph, David's Mighty Men, with A Soldier's Prayer to recur any of these).  Uriah gets initiative easily against Philistines as well, and now Jonathan son of Shimei can play CBN enhancements against many of the best Philistines.

Also, Ahimelek absolutely punishes any defender that blocks with Goliath.

I'm wondering if TSC's price is actually a bit inflated because I believe there are actually a lot of them out there. CoW was one of the best selling sets in recent years and I think CoW AB did well too. Not to mention that Second Coming was also given out to national winners. I think there was a lot of hype added to the card because of how good it is and that's what drives the price up and seemingly stays up. But then again, that's just my opinion. I don't have all the facts.

+1 I don't think they're scarce per se, but it's obviously a very powerful card relative to the rest of the card pool and thus it's not often traded. When a card isn't available for trade, it's buy price is going to climb.
