Basically, a lot of the speed strategy is based on making your opponent draw cards, and then with gifts of the magi active, you'll draw cards as well. For example, Hur will make them shuffle all but one card from their hand and then draw seven more. Then you can draw seven. Love at first sight makes them draw a whole new eight card hand, and so you get to draw eight cards.

Just take any the the cards that say draw three and put them in your deck. A white, blue, purple deck is solid and fast. Book of Hozai, Book of Jashar to copy Hozai, Propserity, Pentecost, Great Faith to get out a draw card, Reach of Desperation, First Fruits, and Words of Encouragement.

Not to mention Maharai + Tribal Elder + King David gives you all three brigades, or any combos similar.

Yeah, if you do mainly Blue, White, and Purple, and then throw in Hur, Moses, Simeon, and Captain of the Host, you can have a very nice speed banding deck. Another thing that works well is Teal/Green/Purple, although banding decks are much more fun.

TGT is cheap; it isn't speed, and it really isn't fun at all.
