Clearly it still needs some tuning, but I think it has potential.
Some notes about this deck:
I ended up going 4 Book of Hosai and 2 Answer to Prayer. My playgroup tends to run a lot of anti-search (Nazareth and Hezekiah’s Signet Ring), but if your area has less of that and more anti-draw it works to change these around a bit.
I wanted to fit in The Rainbow, but when thinking about what to take out for it, I always just ended up wanting whatever it would search for instead of The Rainbow itself.
Shrine to Artemis has a number uses, possibly the least of which is actually searching out The Priest of Zeus (though that is certainly nice). It can be used to shuffle Abram’s Army back into deck so they can be searched out with Answer to Prayer in battle again. It can be used to shuffle Benjamin or Zedekiah once they start gaining too much experience so you can play down a new 1/1 copy from your hand. It can be used to get rid of converted non-genesis heroes so that Benjamin keeps his CBN. It can be used to get rid of your opponent's cards placed on your characters or territory (like Abom). And if you are unlucky enough to have one of your unique cards set aside, it can shuffle that back into your deck to free up new copies.
The Wages of Sin seems like it will be extremely good. In this deck (which isn’t even built around it) it can search out Shipwreck, Christian Martyr, Burial, DoN, Treasures of War, Wickedness of Tenants, Uzzah, King Zedekiah, King Manasseh, The Priest of Zeus, Deceit and Vengeance. Possibly also Medium in Endor (implied discard)? This is pretty much all of the ‘get rid of specific annoying cards’ cards, as well as some characters and battle winners. So much versatility.
Messenger of Satan has good interactions with Abraham’s Descendant and Wages of Sin to get back what was just placed beneath. Also good for getting the right toughness to have initiative to play Gibeonite Trickery as well as enough toughness to survive.
So what do you think of this as a starting point for Blue post FoM? Do you have questions about why certain cards were included? Or do you wonder why other cards didn’t make the cut? Maybe even suggestions of things to improve?
Please ask or comment away, and I will do my best to explain.
