Deck Design Getting Cluttered?

It seems that these forums are chocked full of people posting their decks and there isn't a lot of time before the thread that you started ends up on page 2 or 18 and doesn't get read by anybody else. I'm not sure how much it would help, but maybe we could split this section into a couple of sections.

1: Tournament Winning Decks
2: T1 Sample Decks/Advice
3: T2 Sample Decks/Advice

Another issue that may just be me is that people have really generic titles like "Blue/Green deck, Plz Advise" or "Tournament Winner." It is hard to figure out which Green/Blue thread I was looking at when I come back again. Maybe it would be better if people gave short 1-2 word names to their deck so that it wasn't the same thread name as everybody else with a similar deck type.

Another idea that I had was that instead of the 3 sections I suggested you could just do 2.

1: Sample Decks/Ideas
2: Real Decks/Advise

The sample decks would be things like Tim's National winning deck, BrianGabe's enhancementless deck. The other section would be for players looking to get advice to improve their deck.

i agree with both.

And if this doesn't happen then just delete your first thread about your first deck before you make a new thread about your new deck.

That's what I try to do but sometimes I just don't wanna look page by page for my last deck I posted...

Deleting older threads isn't what the point of this is. Having older threads is useful because people can look back at older ideas to make a creative deck even if those ideas aren't on the front page.

I know, I was just replying to what Lozo said.
I'm all about the sub-sectioning of Deck Design, since like you, I have also noticed these things.

Dividing the Deck Design section into sub-sections would be a great start to help reduce clutter and keep the areas more focused. As the boards are always having new members/players joining, older decks should be left as newer members/players might like to see them and get ideas from them.

Maybe it's time to separate deck design into its own supertopic, with Ideas/Advice/Tournament-Winning or similar into subtopics?

Submit your ideas.  I've never been shy about rearranging the boards if I think it will be better organized and feel less "cluttered", so I'm just going to open the floor and let people post without comment from me, and see what ideas end up making the most sense when/if I finally decide to split it (probably end-of-week).

I like that idea alot. That way people looking for stratagies and other stuff can use this while deck design has its own lil place with all nice anti clutter stuffs.

And don't forget that tournament winners are welcome to post their decks on Holder's Heroes as well, if they're just looking to share and not to tweak.

Hmm, I would like the following.

Card Play
Sample/Tournament Decks - Card Strategies/Great Plays - Deck Advice - New Card Ideas - Game Play Variations - T2 Only (this is an all-encompassing section for T2)

Card Strategies/Great Plays could be morphed currently because they are basically the same thing.

Here are couple ideas I would like to see. It is similar to what Ben has in mind, but I think Sample Decks and Deck Advice can be a single sub-section. Sample decks are normally in the "can be overhauled" (i.e. - Deck Advice) arena while Tounament decks tend to be a little more stable and are modified with tweaks instead of overhauls. It is possible that Sample Decks and Deck Advice could have a sub-sections of their own and standalone, so here are 2 ways I could see it.

Card Play
Tournament Decks - Type 2 Only - Card Strategies/Great Plays - Sample Decks/Deck Advice - New Card Ideas - Game Play Variations

OR

Card Play
Tournament Decks - Type 2 Only - Card Strategies/Great Plays - Sample Decks - Deck Advice - New Card Ideas - Game Play Variations

Godspeed,
Mike

Seperate Deck design into T1 lists, t2 lists, and Deck Concepts.

Take wk4c's advice and USE THE SEARCH BUTTON!!!!!

But I agree, it would be better for the split to be between Deck Advice and Deck Concepts.......

You might even split those into T1 and T2.

My thoughts:

T1 and T2 and Deck Concepts and Deck Advice.

In T1 people post T1 tournament winning decks.
In T2 people post any T2 Deck.
Deck Concepts should be for people who are unsure of what they want to do.
Deck Advice should be for people who just want advice on how to tweak their decks.

Just my Ideas.

I think that "Deck Design" is too broad to be a category of its own. Deck Design can include so many different things. Discussion about "necessary" cards for any deck, tournament-decks, ratio discussion, etc.

I like Deck Advice, Sample Decks (tournament-winners and arch-types), T2 discussion. There  aren't many T2 threads and I think it could have its own section for a while before it gets too cluttered. I'm not sure where these threads put threads like ratios, but maybe those could go under the Mega-Category of Deck Design with the sub-categories of Deck Advice, Sample Decks, and T2 Only.

I like the idea of...

Deck concepts/Ideas. *for incomplete decks and/or strategies*
T1 deck designs.
T2 deck designs.

Deck advice and concept decks are the same to me because both are asking for suggestions and thoughts on how they will work and how to make them better.

I would say two sections:
Tournament Decks and Commentary
Deck Advice
