Building a Herod defense

What cards would you use to supplement a Herod defense? I'm thinking the gold KoT might be helpful against anything that is immune/ignores human ECs. I'm trying to think if OT ECs are necessary (probably could supplement with some Egyptians, but then the defense runs in two directions). Maybe a splash? I know Herods are being played, and they look intriguing, but I'm not really convinced of them on their own (but am willing to have someone set me straight on this).

My Herods defense that curbstomps any offense except White (which it's fairly evenly matched with) only has KoT off-theme.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

I expect you to win nationals with all these unstoppable defenses. ;)

I've actually been working on a Manasseh defense, but Herods will be my next project. Who knows both may make an appearance at our district. A T2 Herod defense seems like a good idea. However, I am the only one up here who has truely seen the power that is the Disciples set, thanks to Polarius, so I may just be mean and blindside them with some stuff they have never seen before. Love me some defense. The noobs are still in training. We did have them involved in a sealed tourney which kind of introduced them to more things since we used TxP and Disciples.

Herods is inadvisable in T2 due to a complete and utter void of generic characters.

KoT, UW/UN, Magician+Charms, Philly Garrison + Philistine Outpost. Probably 3 or 4 of these should be enough.

My fave two Splashes with Herods are KOT (duh) and E warden. His ability infuriates many people.

Well I would probably add in some Egyptians or another color to supplement the defense just for that reason in T2. Not sure I would do a solid gold defense since it would rely so heavily on capture.

Yeah, E warden is a beast and he would be awesome with Herods.  Forgot about him.
