So this is the explanation thread for my "free cards for kids" thread in the market section.  So what this thread is going to do is show the first three steps of this "project."  And this truly is a project for me.  The definition of project is: an individual or collaborative enterprise that is carefully planned and designed to achieve a particular aim.

I have been thinking about and planning this idea with a very particular aim!  The ultimate goal is to have this project gain so much support that any new player in Redemption can get a competitive deck given to them at no cost because this community as come together and brought some resources together to allow that to happen.

I've been doing this to some degree on the small scale.  Students that start playing at my church borrow an I/J deck and they play other I/J decks or "level decks" that I have created for them to start to slowly learn how the game is played.  Upon beating any of my level decks in a best 2 out of 3 format (to help reduce bad luck), they are given a handful of cards for free.  I also try to do this some at tournaments I attend with other new players.  Obviously I can't have them play the decks due to limited time, but I try to give them a few helpful cards in the colors they already use.

So this is where it this starts.  I have created 3 tiers of cards, and each tier increases the quality of cards that can be simply given away.  When I have a new student start at my church or a new player with another group at a tournament I'm attending, I'm going to let them choose a color/category and then create their own deck to keep at no cost to them.

Their decks:

They would pick 8 characters & enhancements for both good and evil.  If I have the resources, I would then give them 7 lost souls and (hopefully) 7 dominants.  If the player has an I/J deck, I would give them less dominants as they already have 5, but reward them with other cards of greater cost or ability.  This would then allow them to choose 4 other cards to help supplement their decks.  I'm calling this cards "utility cards" and will include: artifacts, covenants, curses, fortresses, sites, dual-alignment cards.  Or they could choose other characters or enhancements as well.  This would at least give them a 50 card deck that is their own that they can use whenever they want to play. 

The goal:

Due to only currently doing this myself, I have limit stock and resources so the decks are very basic.  So that is why I'm reach out to you!  With your support (purchases or donations), I'll be able to not only expand the quality of cards given away, I'll be able to expand the people that these can be given away to.  I would love to have enough support to send current tournaments hosts, or play group leaders some pre-built decks to give away to their new players.  I would love to say because of this great community, when ANYONE has a new player start their group, then we can give them something for free to get them started.

So this is the hope and dream of this project.  I want this community to give every new player a free deck, and my hope is that these decks given away could even be competitive enough that they could win a smaller level tournament with it.

I'm also hoping with enough support I can give away free entries to my tournaments.  I would start out as free entries for players under 18 or new players, but would love to be able to possibly host a State or Regional tournament with no entry cost to maximize participation!

Due to every project having to start small and then build its way up, I've made a plan to do the same thing.  So listed below are my 3 tiers.  Each tier will have a small description about it and what players get to choose from, just to give perspective of the growing progress.

Tier 4:  Could it be possible to add another tier?!?!?!?!  I would love to say that is it possible to get such over whelming support that I could offer every card in the game to a new player.  How incredible would it be for them to pick any 50 cards they wanted and build their own decks?  I guess I didn't prepare the tier for this because I don't believe it could happen, but anything is possible.  I would love to get to this point, and show everyone just how supportive this community is!
