Blowing the dust off an old deck

Greetings,

I used to play regularly about 10 years back, but stopped playing when I moved and found no one in the area to play the game with. So, I put my cards away in the closet. I was stumbling around and came across them again, and decided to blow the proverbial dust off my old deck to see how they would hold up to current standards. Mind you, the deck is about 8-10 years old. First, let me tell you about the deck.

Theme/Strategy:

Back when I was playing all the time, I had chosen to dedicate myself to a specific theme: Women. Not just cards from the Women expansion, but cards that focused on women. All of my heroes and villains are female as well. The basic strategy is field control. Most of my deck is based around either preventing certain heroes to be played or getting rid of the ones that can be played. I also have several search and draw cards to help the deck flow smoothly as well as some utilitarian effects that come in handy.

Lost Souls:

Lost Souls (3 line)
N.T. Only Lost Soul (looks like a little girl to me)
Women Only Lost Soul
Generic Lost Soul (Proverbs 7:27)
Generic Lost Soul (Proverbs 7:27)

Greetings Jesusman,
Welcome back to the game. First, I like the idea of all women.  In fact, I've experimented with this after seeing my brother in law play all white Ladies for offense and phillistines on defense.  I would revamp this deck significantly for it to have any play value. Here is what I used:

Cards: 56

Souls: 8
Female Only
NT Only
3 Liner
Shuffler
Deck Discarder
Site Doubler
Hopper
Revealer

Doms: 7
SOG
NJ
Grapes of Wrath
Mayhem
Burial
CM
FA

Sites/Forts: 3
TGT
Hormah
Canaan

Arts/Curses: 6
Magic Charms
Holy Grail
Samaritan Water Jar
Gibeonite Curse
The New Covanent
Household Idols

Heroes: 8
Salome
Mary the Mother of James
The Woman at The Well
Mary Magdalene
Susanna
Lydia
Ruth (I/J starter)
Gabriel

Good Enhances: 8
He is Risen
Words
Lost Coin Found
Angelic Guidance
Magnificat
Authority of Christ (Promo)
Angelic News
Kindness

EC's: 8
Foreign Wives
Demon Behind the Idol
Woman of Thebez
Gomer
Damsel with a Spirit of Divination
Women as Snares
Job's Wife
Spirit of Temptation

Evil Enhances: 8
Suicidal Swine Stampede
Swift Horses (gold)
Wonders Forgotten
Death of Unrighteous
Haman's Plot
Stone of Thebez
Worshipping Demons
Invoking Terror

These combinations work really well.  The offense is a combination of white Ladies, an Angel, and a Samaritan to play off Samaritan Water Jar to set aside some of your opponents cards until they are decked out for the purpose of trying to hit those nasty cards he will play against you.  The new covenant is nice for keeping your banded ladies in battle when they are being discarded.  Holy Grail for converting opponent's evil characters.  Gabriel can search your discard pile for the Luke reference enhancements you've used on your white ladies.  Ruth is OT but she's nice because she negates evil characters.  Hormah site is good to play the deck discarder and the site doubler and then when your Evil character is discarded the site and the souls inside go back under your deck. the defense is a combination of evil ladies plus a couple of demons for orange enhancement regeneration and banding in opponent's characters.  With SoT you can band your opponent's nasty evil character in and then play Suicidal Swine stampede to remove the evil characters from the game to protect souls from rescue.  Yes you remove SoT but also the character you banded in from your opponent's territory!  Gomer is nice to band to another opponent or play Plot off to discard three characters of your opponent.  Foreign Wives is multi colored to play all your enhances and/or play mayhem to make your opponent draw more cards to trigger her protect.  You can search for the HHI artifact as well.  Woman of Thebez + Stone is great!

Hope this helps!
