I'm sad to see this have to shut down for a while, but it is completely understandable.  Thanks for creating something that was so useful for the last year, and which so many people were able to enjoy.

Do you have any timetable for when you expect to be able to get stuff restarted somewhere else?  2 months, 6 months, 2 years?

As I stated in the OP, I do not know when. I'm starting college in 3 weeks, so it could very well take years before I could. Then again, it could take 4 months. I have no idea. I'm the only real developer so it all depends on the time I can squeeze out for it, and if I can find the money to pay for the servers. I'll be letting everyone know when I have a rough estimated time, but don't hold your breath.

Yeah, so first off,  apologizing for reviving a 3-year old thread. I know this has long been dead, and probably forgotten. 3 years in july...wow. Seems like yesterday I was working everyday on this project, pushing the limits of my programming skills to create things that probably nobody needed for Redemption (Academy, QA, etc). A few features found it's way to regular use though (Card Designer, RTS Lobby). I still stand proud to this day though that popularity is what killed RC!.

It's 3 years later though, and I'm leading development of an online Christian curriculum platform (http://disciplr.com if anyone would like to see. We release Monday). It's been a long journey that has had it's ups and downs, and I have grown quit a bit in knowledge and expertise in my field. Which brings me to the reason I'm reviving this thread:

I want a fun project to start on to expand my skills. I believe this could be one of them. But I've been away for quite a while, and don't even fully understand the state of Redemption. Did someone ever write a better RTS client? Do people want an online card designer?

I am essentially asking, would people want Redemption Connect! back? If so, what would people like to see in it?

RTS has pretty much been replaced by a Redemption plugin for LackeyCCG (http://www.lackeyccg.com/). It provides a lobby, a Mac client, and multiplayer support out of the box.

What Lackey lacks (ha!) is a decent deck builder--and Redemption Live! is no longer being updated. So as a first step toward a complete web-based game platform, a card visualizer/explorer and deck builder would be nice.

The Lackey plugin online update site has access to all of the necessary card data, metadata, and images. If it would help, slapping an web-based API on top of that would require a (relatively) small amount of effort.

I would be interested in helping fund this effort. Would it be possible for decks made in RC! to be imported into Lackey? That would be ideal for sure.

Are there sample deck files I can look at?

So I looked into the data format for Lackey, super open, meaning all the data is easy to read and load. I will work on writing an importer of the data into a database, then mock up a deck builder. If any one has any suggestions as to what they'd like to see in the deck builder, i'd be all ears

I think the RC! deck builder was ideal.

I just wanted to say congrats on how far you've come in 3 years, and it's good to have you back on the boards again.
