After rereading this thread I want to publicly say to Jay that I am sorry for the behavior of past board members. I am sure you had moments of being a kid that frustrated people but what child doesn't have those moments? The posts in this thread alone where rude, condescending and out right mean.

This is showing me a history in this game that I didn't know existed. I am glad the boards are not currently like this.  I see now how a "joke is on Jay culture" emerged. I have even laughed and made some jokes myself. I had always believed that it was entirely good natured. Apparently I was wrong. No one deserves this kind of pounding especially at the age you were.

I hope you no longer feel a need to prove yourself in redemption. You are a good player/deck builder. You have a good heart. I'm really happy for you placing this year!  I hope this year has given you some satisfaction about  your career, both where you were and where you are now.  I bet the people in your life that know the deeper parts of you don't even reflect on redemption when the evaluate your value to them.  You're a Christ follower and a servant of the Most High King. Your worth and strength come from the blood of Jesus, poured out for you.  You belong in His family, you have value in Him and in the fact that you are an image bearer of God, the Father.  You are filled with the Holy Spirit. In the light of this stuff, redemption means nothing.

Eh I changed one day when the meta's diffent maybe a new verson of this deck will be good.

Called his shot. Well done, Jay.  8)

I was not active on the boards during this time, but I am ashamed as well of the bullying that took place.  :(
I also regret and am sorry for the times I have not spoken up when someone has been the target of bullying on this forum.

May this board be a place where we lift each other up with words of encouragement.

As one who did make posts of a despicable nature in this thread I am ashamed and appalled. Jay, you're a rockstar, and deserve major props for how well you've done in your Redemption career

I must say, I have harbored no hard feelings from the remarks made at the time of the original thread. I'll have a longer response coming later today.

I haven’t gone back and read this thread, but I’ll second the comments above and add that Jay has done an outstanding job of judging at the past two Nationals. It’s a pleasure to have him as part of the team. Sacrificing his option to compete in order to serve (when he’s not part of the elder team and under no obligation) is a reflection of his servant heart.
Have you visited the Land of Redemption today?

While I still feel @Rawrlolsauce won the thread, that was kinda rough. I think once you get to know people personally they come across as less abrasive online, but we have to keep in mind that peoples' online experience here could be their only one if they get a bad impression.

As one who "rags" Jay quite a bit, mostly due to silly/goofy things he says and does now (not in the past).  I do hope that he realizes I cherish his friendship.  He has been around my playgroup for a long time, and would do anything I ask in a heartbeat and without question.  That type of friendship (regardless of it being form from a card game or not) is not easily earned.  While me and others do give him a hard time (probably more than we should), we also try to help encourage him.  Jay, you have said for several years now that you think Jeremy is a better player than you.  But the fact is you have shown your abilities, and need to remember you are a good player in your own right.  We have said that to you many times, so don't believe anything people who don't know you say.  I actually know you don't, but it is always good to have a reminder or two!

Just a helpful hint, think about what you are about to say around us, because sometimes it is just to priceless to forget and not bring back up!  :P  (you know what I'm talking about!)

Chris, i am with you and clearly you aren't in the vein of people bullying in thread. Sorry if my post felt like an accusation on you or your play group.

I never expected this thread to become an anti-Redemption bullying campaign, but hey! I want everyone who has posted since I revived this monstrosity of a thread to know that I deeply cherish my friendships with each and everyone of you. Redemption has been a gigantic part of my life for the past ten years, and I hope to say that it continues for the next ten!

I didn't feel that way at all.  I'm not even on this thread until today.   :P  But all that being said, if you have been around Jay and me for any period of time, you would probably have heard me rag on him.  I'm just clarifying is all.  My mentor growing up gave me this quote, "If people pick on you, that means they like you."  The difference between the people on this thread and me is first, Jay knows me personally (probably doesn't everyone on this thread).  Second, he knows I'm simply being silly when I mess with him, but others who don't know him or me might not.

I haven’t been able to post on this until now due to work but I was reading it yesterday and wanted to say, “how in the world are you still playing after that brutal beatdown you took on this thread!?” Then I come back today you you got an overwhelming amount of well deserved love and support. Great job on placing especially with flood/Egyptians.

Oh wow, I remember this. 4/10 to the face. ;D Seems I probably even posted some sort of advice on it way back when (something about Gomer/KoT stopping this offense cold?). That's the trouble with randomly deleting old posts, I suppose.

Your growth as a player over the years is a good example of what happens when you keep at something. Excellent work, good sir!

Speaking of this thread, is the promised LoR article ever coming out? I'm really interested to hear the details.

Yes! I've stalled a bit on writing due to an insane work schedule to catch up after nationals, but if I ever get time at home, it will be finished.
