Now that this deck is done for the tournament season (unless someone at Nats borrows it for 2P, which people are more than welcome to do, btw--I hold Westy responsible for getting it back to me), I decided I would post it. I did suggest a couple of tweaks that Westy could have used if he wanted, but I'll let him comment as to whether or not he actually did. This deck has had quite a run the past three weeks since MN State, with 5 full wins, 1 timeout win, 1 tie, and 1 timeout loss in T2 MP, and 3 wins and a tie in T2-2P. I almost wish I got to experience more of the success personally (MN State was the only tournament I used it), but a shout out goes out to Josh Knitt (T2-2P, MW Regs), Nathan Voigt (T2-MP, MW Regs) and Andrew Wester (T2-MP, Nats) for utilizing their Redemption Skillz to take the deck on it's whirlwind tour.

*Angel at Bethesda was used at MN State and T2-2P at MW Regionals. For T2-MP at MW Regionals and Nats, it was replaced by the additional Striking Herod.

The idea of the deck is to be fast, with an offense (Angels) that most T2 MP defenses (Pharisees) struggle against. The other key strategy is to always know what you are getting into, with VP, Sorrow x4, and Angelic Guidance x2 (and recurrable). Darius' Decree is a key artifact, as my Idle Gossips make attacking Heroes fight a big Angel (preferably Gabe or Legion) and unable to play enhancements. In the Clouds is there in case Decree isn't active. The rest is pretty standard silver, with Gabriel being the main offensive speed engine (and his recur of Angelic News allows you to draw after battle, avoiding Foreign Wives).

In the two games I played with it, I rarely had to make an attack that I wasn't confident I could win. There is a lot of searching, but Naz is still there because it has even more drawing. I'll let Westy, Nathan or Josh comment on any of the strengths/weaknesses they found, but in the games I played, I always seemed to be very well prepared. The one change I suggested Westy could make (not sure if he did) was to add in Gates of Hell and Angel at Tomb, to retrieve an underdecked SoG.

He made that change and it actually got him a timeout win. Gates of Hell broke.

I dropped one In the Clouds and the Gold Shield from the list to fit in Angel at Tomb and The Gates of Hell.

When Jordan first sent me his list, I honestly thought he might be trolling me. Like, what kind of deck uses TWO Legion of Angels? I had realized at that point though that Pharisees do struggle against Angels, especially with interrupts like Striking Herod, so I thought it could work if it was fast enough. To be honest, the speed wasn't what I hoped for, and the defense was extremely squishy, but hey, it's multiplayer. The offense, on the other hand, walked in for so many souls. Babylonians gave me some trouble, but other than that, Angels were awesome.

I did Gates my entire deck on my final turn of Round 2, and Clift tried to play Christian Martyr on Angel at Tomb in territory, but I had Lampstand active. I rescued against Matt Sinclair, who unfortunately had his defense set aside at the time, and unfortunately had a Rejoice lost soul in his territory that I could draw with. I get the soul and play SoG/NJ to get to 5, watch as everybody else walks in for free souls against me, but still pull out a timeout tie for first with Tyler Stevens.

I'm not going to do a full tournament report, as I don't remember too much and it's T2 Multiplayer, but I would like to thank Jordan for the very...unique...deck.

The only trouble I ran into was against Daniel bands and Assyrians. To be fair, having an Assyrian defense get set up before you draw any Heroes is a sure-fire way to get into a losing position. :P (If only you had included ET and AoCP ;))

Thanks again for letting me borrow your deck!
If you were to go on a trip... where would you like to go?
