Pre CoW tournament decklist

Well this my current decklist for tournaments. It has been very efficient overall, I won a regional tournament last year with an iteration of this deck but I've never had a chance to make nationals so I've never been able to go on past that point. It hasn't had many games against clay but it has fared well in those it has. And before you just dismiss it. It isn't a site lock deck. Can it lock? If a player is unprepared sure. It is more of a stall defense and even just forcing players to have access or soul generation to rescue a soul generates enough tempo to win a game. Test it out and see what you think.

56 cards

Dominants 7

SOG
NJ
AOTL
BURIAL
SHIPWRECK
DON
CM

Lost souls 7
FBTN
Female only
Site doubler
Resurrection
2 liner
Far country?
Awake?

Sites 6
Caesarea Phillipi
Hormah
Golgotha
Leper Colony
Pergammum
Jericho

Artifacts/curses/covenants 1
Unknown nation

DAE 3
Forest fire
Drawn sword
Foreign sword

Heros 10
Captain of the host
TSA
Ezekiel
Benaiah
David (green wc)
Cornelius
Asahel
Ahimelek the Hittite
Uriah the hittite
Jephthah

GE 7
Live coal
Two bears
Battle cry
Bravery of David
David's Triumph
Counsel of Abigail
ASP

Evil Characters 7
Nebby
Chaldeans
Astrologers
Babylonian soldiers
Simon the magician
The false prophet
The serpent

EE
Scattered
Invoking terror
Nebby's pride
Belshazzar's banquet
Dream
Death of Unrighteousness
Divination
Achan's sin

There are quite a few synergistic plays here so I'll list a couple
Benaiah + forest fire or drawn sword
David + his enhancements
Ezekiel + Ezekiel DAEs
Battle cry + Captain or Ahimelek
Uriah + discard battle winners
Divination + Jephthah
Nebby + whatever you need to win

Achan's sin and shipwreck are really the only lock elements the rest is just a defense that can answer as many issues as it can and support the the offensive plays.

That's really about it. It's alot better than I initially thought. The offense seems nicely suited for the new set additions too.

So, I'm not 100% sure what your asking here, whether for deck advise or how to edit for the new CoW cards, but there may be a few cards that haven't been released yet that might help, I just don't really know what you will want. Once they release the new defense cards, you can see for yourself. As for the actual deck, I have to say I really like it, I'm glad someone made a really good deck that combines both prophets and red warriors, nice job!

Not really looking for deck advise here. Just thought the offense could be a good starting point for alot of the new cards like joshua, moses, rahab, and the Davids. The defense is taking some pretty big hits with the new set when it comes to sites. Might still be ok just tricky. Overall I was just putting my idea out there for anyone who wanted to make use of it or ask questions about it if they were interested in it. Thanks though it's been fun to play. Just not so much against. Haha.

How often do you find yourself having to surrender a "freebie" Lost Soul on the first turn because you didn't draw any ECs (or you had Sites but the opponent went first)? That seems like it could be the biggest weakness in this deck (especially with not using Falling Away to negate the "free LS")

That's always my fear--I'm not sure I could ever run just 7 ECs. Even in my decks that are 51 or 52 I tend to run at least 8 ECs and often 9.

I do like the deck, but if I'm honest I'd probably run one less Site and one more EC (probably Judas). That's just my personal style though--sounds like you've done quite well with it.

Have you checked the REG?
Have you looked it up in ORCID?

Not too often. Unknown nation acts as an 8th or a deterrent often. Other than that if I don't have my defense it means my offense should be ready to roll so it should keep pace with any other deck barring massive soul drought. Ive been toying with a 63 card version that has a bit more defensive options. If I remember right it adds FA, another soul, the God of this world, the Amelikites slave, burial shroud, Covenant w/Palestine and recruiting officer. The last 2 were for odd recursion of a site access hero and to answer the CBP ls. I've also toyed with the Samaria site for simon, Sarah's jealousy, and a few other ECs Judas among them. I just decided that since I was playing 56 vice 63 the defense could feel a little lite as long as it meant the decks offense would roll.

Nice, I missed the inclusion of Unknown Nation. I used that in every T2 deck I played before Nazareth came out. Now even though Nazareth has lost some popularity, Hezekiah's Signet Ring is all the rage.

Have you considered trying 57 with the extra soul and dominant?

yeah. I guess just for type 1 I haven't seen much of naz or HSR. And the decks I do see them with are usually on the slower side. I haven't really thought about the 57 and extra dominant. It's an interesting idea. I don't know if I'm gutsy enough to do that though. Haha
