Offense: Band and draw to your heart's content.  Foreign Wives isn't an issue as you have two ways to rescue around her protection (Peter's Sermon, Eternal Interitance.  Watchful Leaders to Paul gives most defenses issues.

Defense:  CBN/CBI banding is pretty decent with how many of the offenses are constructed this season. Defense utilizes reserve excellently.  One regret was not including Frog Demons in main deck.  Serpent also did plenty of work.

Tournament recap:
Round 1: Brian Jones 4-5
Highlight of game for me was myself and Brian doing the Polycarp/Eternal Inheritance trick on back to back turns.  Also negating Woman with Child with Abaddon turn one was pretty nice.     I believe he Christian Martyred a Serpented hero to play SoG/Second Coming at end after rescuing #3. Probably should have used gates on last turn of game but don't think it would of made a difference. Great game.

Round 2: Bill Voigt 5-3
Bill pulled off the Creation of the World combo which was cool to see.  Pretty much just card advantages him after that with Claudia/Philemon/Paul.

Round 3: Daniel Blodgett 5-2
Really don't remember much from this game.  Believe I just card advantaged this games again.

Round 4: Martin Miller 5-4
Tight game.  Not much of Martin's defense showed up.  I was able to band to his defense multiple times to thin out the little he drew.  Was one turn away from Martin winning.

Round 5: Jacob Arrowood 2-5
I got rolled.  Made the poor decision of drawing through Music Leader early.

Round 6: Kye Murphy 5-4
I misplayed a couple times this game.  One not adding Ends of the Earth to battle after a death of unrighteousness, and another using Gates of Hell off a Grapes of Wrath.  Thankfully still pulled it off.  Kye was one turn away.

Round 7: Caleb Beers 5-1
Old school Disciples Pharisees.  Basically card advantaged him and Judean Mediums did work with the cbn banding.

Round 8: Daniel Huisinga 5-4
Before the game we discussed how epic this game would be banding to each others defenses creating a pretty long game.  Well the opposite happened neither defense showed up and our offenses basically walked in most of the game.  Hitting him with a Serpent was also key.

What is the Polycarp / Eternal Inheritance trick?

Having Polycarp in play means that if your opponent plays an interrupt/negate after you use Eternal Inheritance, you can simply instead the interrupt so EI goes through (unless your opponent is holding both an "interrupt/play next" AND a "negate last good enhancement.")

Have you checked the REG?
Have you looked it up in ORCID?

Works even better when Polycarp is the one who played eternal inheritance.  Which was the case for both Brian and myself that game.

And even better yet if you also include Eternal Covenant to get Polycarp back for next turn... 8)

Love this list...the only thing I would consider changing is I am Creator for Eternal Covenant since you have 11 Heroes and 1 in Reserve (unless the I am Creator was an anti-Hypocrisy/Mayhem tech, then it makes more sense).

Thanks! I had Eternal Covenant most of season but I added it as a anti Hypocrisy/Mayhem counter, and also as a way to try and get Claudia turn one against Coney.  Getting Paul or Epaphras turn one against other deck helped some games as well.  Thanks to Daniel H for the suggestion and looking through defense as well.

I really missed the 8 player top cut and you would've made cut based on placing.  Who knows what happens from there.

I don't know why we didn't stick with what was working and I would've love to see Koney have to survive a top cut.

That deck is built to smash weaker opponents 5-0 for differential and top cut isn't about that.

Congrats on a good tournament Mitch your still a supremely underrated player and your definetly a first rate person!

My build of Koney was built for win % rather than differential and I would have loved to play it in a top cut scenario. I think a top 4 with bo3 is actually better for Kony than straight swiss while top 8 and straight swiss involve basically the same strategies just with more games against top players. I haven't had the chance to experience playing in top cut and was looking forward to it this year. Whether I would have ended up with a worse or better placement from it I do wish we had had top cut.
