Game 1 Bye
Game 2 was against last years Type-A  Champion Derek Frank
I believe it was 5-4 me
I got 5 on my final turn before time by drawing into Son of God. Derek was able get by a turn 1 sabbath Breaker that drew no EE.  He also got one against Balaams Disobedience because I played it against a Daniel band that used an Angel . . . Oops.

Scape Goat blocked us both and so did mourn and weep while I was waiting to draw SoG to end the game.

Game 3 VS Brandon Frank,
4-5 Brandon
I got a first turn SB scattered block against a great opening throne draw.  I was able to use Tiberius, Sorrow of Mary and Manna to discard AotL and Auto during this game.  He got to play falling away which cost me the game. Thaddeus did most of the heavy lifting this game.

Game 4 vs Amanda Johnson
5-4 Me
Amanda jumped out to an early lead, I wasn’t able to get to Matthew, 4DC, Pentecost, Either Sabbath Breaker early in this game and it showed.  Early On Amanda made several good rescues, Gideon Edict was one, AotL was played then Sheol added a sabbath Breaker to play balaams Disobedience.  Amanda then played SoG TSC to go to 4 - 1. On my turn I knew I needed to stall I pulled Mourn and Weep and then managed to rescue. I then followed my rescue with mourn and weep.  Next turn I pulled scape goat and played it be my battle phase in order to get the free block on Amanda and skip my battle phase that was already skipped.

Hand clog caused Amanda to play down all of her evil characters. On my turn I drew remnant and pulled ET from reserve. I played Reach of desperation which pulled out TSC (I had SoG and AocP in hand). AocP landed wiping out all of Amanda’s EC’s. I got a freebie and followed with SoG, TSC for the comeback.

Game 5 vs Charles Johnson
Timeout Win 4-3
Golgotha stuffed his hand free CBN Zebulun rescue so charles has a hard time getting by the defense. His storehouse enables the entrapping Pharisee to get 2 CBN capture blocks.

I tried to play the long game using scape goat (he discarded M&W) to try to set up my end game play.

I had a feeling charles would hold Deceiver To Uzzah but his Pharaohs Throne room made him feel confident to play down his Egyptians inspire of seeing that I was running disciples. On a block I drew Shipwreck and blew up the protect fort. The next rescue was ET, Reach, AoCP.  He blocked Deceiver to Uzzah and stalled.  He looked for a way to break through but the site lock, combined with Entrapping Pharisee left him no viable option.
I walked by for 4 for free and time was called.

Take Aways
I forgot how good AoCP can be when your ready for it and your opponent isn’t. Having Shipwreck and 3Ws as answers to their counters to AoCP is amazing.

AoCP is 5 times better in a slow play deck that forces the opponent to play down defense. Mourn and Weep and Scapegoat forced opponent’s to lay down EC’s because of hand clog. Add in The Garden Tomb and my late game offense was walking by in most games.

Abusing Mourn and Weep and Scape goat to get a 2 for 1 trade in my favor is busted and should be apart of the game.

If I where to run this again I’d cut
Grapes of Wrath
Emperor V
Emperor D
1st rd protect lost soul
Reassuring Angel
Faith as a Mustard Seed
Seize Him!

To get to 50.

The old school souls didn’t do much of anything, site lock plus Shipwreck seemed like it should work but really didn’t.

Cutting another Dom for Burial seems like a playable option in this deck, it would probably have to be VP or Don that gets cut.

I then followed my rescue with mourn and weep.  Next turn I pulled scape goat and played it be my battle phase in order to get the free block on Amanda and skip my battle phase that was already skipped.

Doesn't this need to be the other way around? M&W says "skip next battle phase" and Scapegoat says "restrict from attacking on their next turn" - I see this working with Scapegoat into M&W, but not when M&W comes first.

Always cool to see older-style decks doing well - you don't need to drop hundreds of dollars on new sets to win. Caleb ran Disciples up until this year, and even then only switched because he wanted to give Throne a shot. Good to see that Thaddeus is still busted Disciples hold up.
ANB is good. Change my mind.

You put all your Disciples there so that Zebulun will work.

Oh wait, he doesn't have Zebulun...  ::)
Have you visited the Land of Redemption today?

Without the Zebulun Splash fishing boat is too slow of
A set up card. By the time your getting the value you don’t need it anymore.

I then followed my rescue with mourn and weep.  Next turn I pulled scape goat and played it be my battle phase in order to get the free block on Amanda and skip my battle phase that was already skipped.

Greg I believe your right about Scapegaot and Mourn and Weep. If it makes anyone feel better I pulled them from reserve on consecutive turns so knowing now I would’ve simply pulled them in the correct order.

How did you protect your own ECs from AoCP’s affect?

CP only protects from opponents' discard abilities.

How did you protect your own ECs from AoCP’s affect?
I think in most decks like these it's not really necessary to have protection. You just have to time it well so that you know you can afford it. If you're losing, that probably means you don't have a lot of defense on the table so it's better for you anyway. If you're winning then maybe you'll save it to seal the deal (i.e. you're at 2 and holding SoG/TSC). It's certainly a powerful card but that just means you have a greater responsibility to time it well.
