Toss: how to play?

I feel like I grasp what the REG has for Toss but I am having a hard time applying that to the cards that I am finding with a toss ability.

Can someone explain how Toss works and use Strong Angel and Coliseum as examples.  Those are the ones that I don't feel like I have a good grasp on the most.  How I would play them or play against them?

Also, the one post about how to use/play Star cards is super awesome.  I think it would be great if we had similar posts for other abilities. i.e. Toss

Thanks!
May you prosper greatly!

Some cards utilize Toss as a powerful winning strategy, such as Foreign Spearman and Roman Spearman. These attempt to play enhancements with high strength to outright kill opponents by decrease.

Other cards, such as Coliseum, TSA, and Mighty Warrior use Toss as a deterrent. Coliseum and TSA toss CBN enhancements - you might run Coliseum in a fight-by-the-numbers banding deck so that your main counters (cards like Scattered and Abandonment) don't work. You use TSA similarly - Angel Party decks tend to band in lots of angels and cap it off with Captain of the Host, so stopping the big AoEs is important.
ANB is good. Change my mind.

When a card is tossed, the player who played it decreases an opposing character X/X where X is the strength of the tossed card. So if I play a card with 6/0 stats and it's tossed, I decrease one of my opponents characters in battle by 6/6. If that characters toughness is reduced to 0 or less, they would be discarded.

So with TSA and Coliseum if you or your opponent play a card that has "negated" (TSA) or "cannot be negated" (Coliseum) anywhere in the special ability, those cards are tossed instead of their special ability activating.

Have you checked the REG?
Have you looked it up in ORCID?

AoE stands for Area of Effect - in Redemption terms it usually means cards that can target multiple characters, or all characters in battle. Some of the most powerful of these cannot be negated if multiple heroes are in battle (Scattered, Abandonment, Scattered Sheep), so if you want to include large bands in your offense Coliseum can help by tossing them instead of allowing their abilities to activate.
