People aren't going to have to bend over backwards to fit this in every type 1 deck with their 2 Sabbath Breakers.

I'll be quite surprised if the best mono gray defense has 2 Sabbath Breakers.

I am referring to meta gray in my post. But wouldn't mono gray be more likely than splash gray to have two sabbath breakers?

I would be surprised if any version of gray in a top tier Type 1 deck will run 2 Sabbath Breakers unless it's in a CoL type defense that intends to get literally zero blocks and only wants more speed.

Perhaps a compromise could be found in regard to the possible recursion abuse potential is to banish the card after use.

Banish this card to end the battle in a stalemate.

Yes, Balaam gets it back. But Balaam is not a great initiative character, and he also prevents unsuccessful.

Just to say you would need to be able to block with Balaam, keep him from being negated, and have a different way to keep him alive in order to lather/rinse/repeat.  Even if it were to happen once, most players are not going to let Balaam get initiative to do it again after that.  Not to mention this does essentially nothing if opponent has YWR active.

I understand everyone’s comments, but also think it would be a little harder than the general thought to make this into OP recursion.

"It's a common misconception for players that are new to EtB abilities to assume that the battle automatically ends in a stalemate. I've lost count of how many times I've had to teach players that it means to go to battle resolution and compare stats. Unsuccessful works the way an inexperienced player expects it too. Maybe that means we should consider changing the rules for EtB so they all work that way."

I agree with Gabes assessment here. I was one of those who played it as "the battles ends" both parties return to territory. If a rule change achieves a simplification of End the Battle to the more intuitive EtB = stalemate, without a severe power shift. I am all in.

CBN in battle, does this mean his ability can be prevented prior entering battle with 3W or no? This terminology of during the battle phase always confused me as to what can be prevented before battle.

So the underdecking is the only thing that can be targeted outside of battle.  Got it.  Thx

Sweet look! I do still think his numbers should be 12/12 though. As arrogance incarnate, why should he get initiative, ever?

The Fallen Star with no “star” ability?

I realize the ability is extensive, but it feels like part of the ability should be converted to some brutal star ability.

Fallen Star gets a bump to 12/12 and the * ability - Take a demon, that does not have negate in the SA, and add it to battle.
A little brutal. You have to decide whether to run other demons in Reserve because you have to add it to battle with an already huge numbers demon.
May not be feasible though... too many shenanigans

Star abilities are for cards that have something to do with prophesy. Also , aside from there being no way to fit a star ability on him, there's currently no way to trigger a star ability on an evil character at a time when a battle is happening so that proposed ability wouldn't function.

I do agree with Master Q on the 12/12. It is fitting.

If I'm correct in my count there's still 56 cards left to be revealed if there's only 222 cards in the set. Any guesses on the release date. I'm thinking late May /early June. Also will phase 2 be combined with phase 1 since both parts of the set will have been released? Awesome work on the sets guys! I continue to be blown away by each new set!

Our team plans to pass the cards off to Cactus to send to print the first part of April. My best guess is that we (the players) will have them in hand the later part of May.

Not relating to PoC cards, but would it be prudent to add "Priestly Artifact" to LR Urim & Thummim's identifier? Eleazar and Eli would appreciate it. ;)
