Today's final spoiler is a revamped version of a classic promo.

With all the awesome Covenants we showed you today you might want to have more than one at a time. We've got a solution for you:

Spoiler (hover to show)
The main issue I've had with ways to have multiple artifacts up at a time was how slow it is to set up since even if you have room, you can still only activate one at a time. Even if you have a hand full of covenants this thing takes 3 turns to really be worth it. If it activated the covenant you search for on itself immediately, even at the cost of one of the other abilities, I'd be a lot more excited about it.

Why can't it? You activate it and search, and you can use the Holds identifier at any point in your prep phase to activate up to 2 Covenants, including potentially the one you searched for

My understanding was having a place to activate multiple artifacts didn't inherently let you activate more than one each prep phase. If you can activate any number of artifacts as long as you have an empty spot to put them then I am extremely excited for this card!

Quote from: REG
● If a hold effect allows a card to hold an Artifact, putting an Artifact there triggers an activate an Artifact effect for that Artifact
Wasn't aware of this line, am now definitely hyped for this card!

 ;) :D

If it wasn't for the increasingly useful Rubble and Dust I'm pretty sure this card would be even more amazing than I think it is

I think new Book of the Covenant is very strong.  It just does so much:

1. Searches out Covenants
2. Holds 2 covenants
3. Gives covenants CBN
4. Protects Covenants
5. Draws cards

That is a lot of powerful things.
Life is what you make of it.

BotC is pretty um well.... It basically replaces I am Gabe and YWR in your deck and draws. Pass. I feel like the search reserve and deck requirements should be switched. Searching reserve is much stronger.

That seems like a good idea to me.

The Covenants reveal to us God's ultimate plan for redemption that was fulfilled in Christ. But with some of those covenant promises also came curses for disobedience. Today we will preview some of the curses from phase 1.

I'm fine with it being switched since I want to the card to be good but I actually disagree with this. I think my Reserves post PoC are going to pretty tight and any covenants I'm running are likely cards that I'm super ok drawing naturally since at least a couple seem playable as enhancements not just as artifacts.

I’ve always been a fan of Unknown Nation. It stopped making the cut in my decks because of lack of late game application and HSR. This nice update solves both of those issues and gives a strong option as an EE!

I liking how most of the covenants and curses in this set actually have an enhancement side I can see myself playing.

Just like with yesterday's Covenants, all these sweet new curses might have you looking for other places to activate them. Decks like Throne and "Angel Party" can set up super quick before you get a chance to play counters.

We think this card, and others similar to it (Like Assyrian Laborers previwed last week) can help put a damper on those plans, while also solving your artifact clog problems

Cool card. I can see me using two specific brown curses with this character.

Shouldn’t the “genderless” identifier be added (hopefully there’s enough room)? The scripture reference doesn’t specify male or female (I know the picture depicts a male, but the person to his right appears to be female. This is a broad evil human to not be genderless). And speaking of scripture reference, the scripture’s book reference is incorrect. It should be Hosea, not Amos.

Could you reserve a curse from hand to turn around and take it from reserve and activate it? Like discarding a philistine from deck with philly outpost to search for it from discard pile

This preview is another example of the new use of "reserve" as a special ability. This card probably isn't for every deck but it will be really strong in the decks that can take advantage of it!

Do they get the choice as well, or do they have to do the same one as you?

I like it, although I agree it's not for every deck. If hand control Rome is still a thing I could see it being good there.
Also that art is unintentionally hilarious to me.
ANB is good. Change my mind.

You'll thank us for helping you keep your deck from splashing too many brigades if your opponent is playing with this:

Spoiler (hover to show)

Fearless Traveler is basically my favorite Hero in my deck (if not Music Leader). But I suppose I can try this out in his place. If I have to. If only she was CBI to complete the Damsel comparison...

I finally got a chance to look at all the cards revealed so far. I have some thoughts on a few others:

Terrifying Beast - Should definitely have Unity: Evil Characters (Roman). CBN really pushes it.

A Royal Priesthood - Unique, but ultimately, seems meh. I get where it could be scary with Isaiah, but it seems easy enough to get rid of on its own.

Flying Scroll - I really hope this isn't the final ability, as it seems horribly unbalanced. Just the EE side is enough to warrant change (I think it should banish either one or the other, not both), but it's the curse side that really pushes it over the edge. This + Mayhem/Hur and the like means you're taking potentially a Three Woes for nothing. This isn't even factoring in Teams, which was already brought up. I like the idea behind it, but as-is it's too abusable.

New Covenant - Ezekiel reference battlewinner with a self-replenishing ability? Why?

DoN - That's one way to decimate Arts in MP... :P

Book o' the Covenant - Seems like the deck/Reserve search is swapping, so that's good. Still, immediate tutor for YWR, makes YWR CBN, protects YWR, and draws. I suppose it takes the place of whatever other artifact you would've included otherwise, so it'll probably be fine as long as the search hits deck by default. Probably...

Mel - Should probably have some sort of unity (either all Heroes Priests or all Heroes royalty). Seems unnecessarily punishing, though.

Plague o' Blood - Screams broken. You're potentially robbing your opponent of three cards while putting yourself ahead a card. It would be better if it wasn't T.C.

Righteous Judge - I'd probably like to have the Star ability this instead: "Discard an evil card from each Reserve." That way there's actually a cost to using it.

I've already commented on the other cards I had thoughts on prior, and I think I like what most of the other ones are doing. Keep on.

I would rather he lose the CBN than gain Unity: Evil Characters (Roman) so he can still get his ability in a Daniel deck. But I might be a bit bias.

So then it doesn’t really lose CBN, does it?  :)

I’m not sure how I feel about Terrifying Beast though.  I don’t know if Unity is the way to go, but the ability has the potential to be quite strong.  Having an alternative location to underdeck from instead of hand would be nice to prevent lockdowns (like from territory or reserve) but I don’t know if there is space.

I’m in support of TTB without Unity. It has an instead ability to get around the CBN underdecking. As for the CBN banding, Romans are in desperate need of banding, especially a strong CBN band.

Ultra rares? I wonder how many there will be?  Maybe two in phase 1 and two in phase 2, with the 5th one being the state tournament promo. Perhaps the 5th could be a teaser for the next set after PoC?  Just a thought. Was kinda of missing the days when there was more than 3 ultra rares.

I’d be fine with more URs if there is more than 1 per box.  If not it would become even more difficult to collect specific ones if they are much better than the others (like TSC or 3 Woes).  That does not seem appealing.
Life is what you make of it.
