For that Numerous reprint I'm thinking silver, and probably clay (or green). As long as it's one per deck. And why not make X = # of a player's redeemed souls, or something similar, instead of a dice roll?

Clay doesn't need any consistency cards for a while. I do agree X needs to change and that sounds like a reasonable thing to change it to. Either go with opponent's redeemed souls so it's a catch up card against fast decks or make it your own redeemed souls so it's a finisher card that finds the last bit of gas you need to close out the game.

In naming the card, I want to confirm is it a particular card (such as “Overcome!” or Battle Cry) or a card type (such as a good Enhancement)? I’m assuming a particular card since it doesn’t read “card type,” but it does say except for a Lost Soul.

The precedent for “name a card” was set with Confusion (CoW) and means a specific card title.

I'm not sure if this was mentioned before but should we expect more legacy rares in this set? If so, will they pick up where the last one left off (Ezekiel)?

Bonus question: Is there any info on the make up of the pack? Will we get 5 cards again?

I know this is probably too earlier to tell, just curious.

Good questions, Xonathan!

I'm not sure if this was mentioned before but should we expect more legacy rares in this set? If so, will they pick up where the last one left off (Ezekiel)?
Yes to more Legacy Rares. That is something we plan to continue throughout this block of sets. The cards included will be ones that could easily fit into this set but that we don't feel need changes from their previous form (so they aren't getting an "altered" reprint).

Bonus question: Is there any info on the make up of the pack? Will we get 5 cards again?
I'm expecting 5 cards per pack as the new normal for sets during this block. We did a lot of evaluating for packaging options last year and determined that it's best for Cactus Game Design to continue card boxes through this block of sets. We will most likely evaluate that again when this block comes to a close. I haven't heard which "extras" Rob plans to package in the card boxes.

And it's preview time!

I know we have at least a few fans of the Ruth theme out there so we continue to toss a card or two their way every year. I'm excited for the potential that this generic Hero has!
Spoiler (hover to show)

This next character is among the most influential of all time! While he's not mentioned by name in scripture he is believed to be prophesied about in both Daniel and Zechariah. We probably won't see this card in it's final form until phase 2 in the spring.

Holy cow Alex is terrifying.

Okay, so next year I'm going to run a Ruth offense with Canaanite defense. Have Kinsman Redeemer, Fall of Man sitting in Jericho, Altar of Ahaz in normal pile, and run the Vindicated soul. No doms for you!

EDIT: Oh, and 400 years of Silence. Is there another place to hold the idol..?

But for flying scroll I'm guessing since Give defaults to another player you can't give it to yourself?

I wish we were that sharp! We probably wouldn't have caught it until next summer when we're building #Mayhem 2.0 to defend the TEAMS title.  ::)

Honestly the main reason I thought of it was your Caleb/Babel shenanigans, so credit still to you guys. ::)

I might consider only being able to take from the person you give it to - still has some fun Teams uses (Babel, both players rescuing with the same hero each turn, etc.) without quite as much potential for abuse.

Ha ha so cool that Flying Scroll now finally is a good card since it's just such a funny image. I would love to fit it in a deck and play it all the time just because it makes me laugh so much ^^'.
Now I'm praying for a strong "Goat with a horn" reprint since that card art looks so trollish too! ;'D

Loving the Alexander card. Maybe we can find a more powerful image of Alex (this art looks a little danty, IMO).

So ALL Greeks—good and evil—have first strike? This would also include Greeks that’re heroes (such as some clay heroes from EC and PC) will also be granted first strike, instead of just evil Greeks. Was this intended? Also, shouldn’t this ability (Greeks being granted first strike) be tied to territory class? If so perhaps the wording on the other part of the ability can be tied to “while blocking” so as not to keep reactivating if it’s TC.

I love Alexander the Great, the only annoying thing is that he won't fit into my Daniel deck due to his Unity, barring a ton more Daniel Greeks that make Babylonians and Persians less needed and/or a card that turns all my evil characters Greek.

Also Flying Scroll will be so much fun, especially for Multiplayer.

@Watchman, AtG will need to be in battle for Greeks to have first strike. Since he bands, and can be banded too, the benefit will apply to all banded Greeks (assuming unity).

Good catch that he also grants FS to good Greeks. If there’s room I’ll add “evil”. If there’s not, in the rare event that he blocks vs a good Greek the the FS will cancel out.
