I am not sure why, but to comment about Jesse’s question about the symbol change:

Assuming there are still “Star” cards, I would support the use of a different symbol for the set vs the unique cards.  With CoW, it can be confusing when the cards are first introduced since the symbol is the same. For instance, The Angel of the Winds exchanges with a hero, if it is a cloud hero, negate evil characters.  Well there are a lot of CoW heroes that are not “cloud” heroes... but they all have little clouds on the bottom and are heroes so look like “cloud” heroes if you don’t know better.

So the set could have a different symbol, but still use the Star icon for these newly introduced card types.

This is correct--the star of David symbol will only appear on "Star" cards. The actual set symbol is the Scroll as pictured in the previewed cards.

Ah, I didn't realize the set symbol was always that way. I agree with goalieking's reasoning as well.

A HUGE thank you to Daniel the Creator for spearheading the spoiler thread this fall! I have a couple comments that will hopefully help you;
  • Card numbers are fluid. While these cards are number and approximately correct many of them will probably change before things are final.
  • Having links to the card images is excellent, but it makes each post hit the max character count quickly. Perhaps use your favorite URL shorter on those links.

Q: I noticed that the set symbol has changed from the Star of David to a scroll - why the change?
As mentioned above, one thing we learned from CoW was that we need to better differentiate between "class" and "ability" icons vs the set symbol. Initially we thought using a different cloud for the set symbol vs the "cloud cards" would make that easier to understand. That being said, the set symbol has always been the scroll and we still have plenty of
"star" cards in the set.

C: For the above artifact, I suggest using the word "Waiting" instead of "Silence"
There are pros and cons to using both "waiting" or "silence". Calling the card "400 Years of Waiting" implies that the "waiting" or anticipation of the Messiah was only over a 400 year period. I'm not sure we can portray the period perfectly in a short card title, but in context of a set which is focused on the anticipation of the Messiah from as early as Genesis 3, specifically the prophesies of the Messiah, I prefer "Silence" because it represents a period in which no know prophesies of the coming Messiah happened. We'll see what the rest of our team thinks.

And finally... why not one more spoiler to close this out? Have you grown tired of your opponent using Wages of Sin over and over? Do you love the Exodus deck discard theme? Then you're probably hungry for some Manna!

Thanks for explaining, Gabe (and for the awesome other spoiler!). I understand what you're saying; it's true that using the word "waiting" would imply that it was only 400 years (which is clearly not true and goes against a main teaching point of the set - namely, to show that all of the Bible points to Jesus). A different word than "waiting" could be better; it's just that the word "silence" to me has the negative implications regarding the perception of God that I outlined in my comment. I know that theologians typically refer to the period between the Testaments as the "400 Years of Silence", so my objections are really to them regarding the use of that term. ;D Thanks for considering!

Music Leader is another example. Have you ever gone 2nd and would have given the world just have have yours in play while your opponent did a half dozen search/draw abilities? Multiply that by 3 in a MP game!

How about we call it “The Calm Before the Storm”; or, more clearly, “The Calm Before the Storming of Hell’s Gates.” 😉

Ok. So the star portion can be used as long as its in your hand first turn. I was thinking you had to lay that down as an artifact to get it to work first.

Correct. The “star” ability represents a free pre-game play that you can choose whether or not to do. In addition to the examples above, I can only imagine that there might be a few Heroes in the set have value if you play them right away.

Maybe this thread should become a sticky one like the ones for the previous spoiler threads. Or did this first happen when they became official introduction threads?

I’d also like to know. I’m assuming it’s like a tie with lost souls needing to be activated in that it’s some randomization, like a coin toss, that determines it.
