I am still interested, but I will be out of the country from July 8-24. I am as of yet unsure whether or not I will have internet access during that time.
ANB is good. Change my mind.

Confirmed Players:
Experienced Game:
1. Redoubter

4. Thomas Hunter                 *out of internet for July?
5. wmd1999

7.

Beginner Game:
1. iamalittleking
2. Drrek
3. RDT
4. Kyp Henderson
5. Wyatt Marcum

Based on what we're seeing here so far, it seems like we should either:

B - go ahead and start without Thomas Hunter and pick up iamalittleking and Drrek

I've never played diplomacy before, but I like strategy games and it sounds fun. Are there any spots left in the beginner game?

Yes there are.  In fact we still have 1 more available spot in the beginner game after adding you to the list :)

What Prof U. hasn't been telling you all this time is that he's been secretly attacking everyone else before the game even starts and then claiming he just wants to wait a little bit longer to start... ::)

That's how good he is at diplomacy... ;)

Shhhhhh.  I've almost got the solo victory in hand at this point.  Just wait until everyone picks countries and they all realize that they only have 1 supply center left to start the game.  Don't spoil my strategy :)

On a serious note, it would also be my preference to wait a couple more weeks so that Thomas Hunter can stay in the game.  Who knows....maybe in those 2 weeks we'll have one more new player sign up and both the experienced and beginner games will be able to start at the same time.

We don't even need to wait the whole time. I leave on Monday (a week from today), and by Wednesday I'll know whether the training camp has reliable access (and I'll be seven hours ahead of Central Time). The actual camp is supposed to have access, but only in certain areas, and at times when I could log on, everyone will be trying to get on. I will likely be able to play, but there may be a  bit of wait (if for no other reason than the aforementioned time zone differences).
ANB is good. Change my mind.

I would agree with that, it'd be nice for both games to have 7, and we can wait a week or so to see about this:

Since your moves would be due weekly (or whatever we set it for), the strain should be lessened.  Let us know when you have more info on availability :)

Wow that is so generous of you to offer.  However, I wouldn't want to put such a burden on anyone else.  In fact, once the game starts you are welcome to proxy any of your units which are too burdensome to me, and I'll be glad to turn in orders for them :)

Actually, I'm not sure if the game site we're using actually is set up for proxies, so that might be impossible :(
