Has anyone else picked this up?
http://www.toywiz.com/mlpfimcards.html

Surprisingly good game. I picked up the Rarity Dash and Twilight Jack decks and a few boosters. Played a few rounds, found good game flow, card combinations, and even a few strategies. Seems like it could become really good.

Do you need the "Mane" characters to play? They appear to only be in the Starter and Theme Decks.

I am planning on playing this beauty. From the looks of it, it's a fairly solid game. The gameplay reminds me of the old Star Trek CCG. (And if I'm not mistaken, one of the designers of the MLP CCG worked on the Star Trek CCG. I could be wrong.)

My one gripe with this game is the character selection. Of course, they wouldn't be able to get everybody in, but still... I was really upset by the fact that Daring Do wasn't in the first set. The next expansion is supposed to come out in March or April according to Enterplay, so maybe she'll appear then. :)

And yes, Mane Characters are essential to play. They're somewhat similar to heroes in the WoW CCG.

Daring do isn't a card but she is an event. (I'm the same way with discord :()

He is correct, you need one of the mane six to play BUT they are working on making more "mane" characters who aren't the mane six.

I picked up the 2-Player Starter. I want to see how my daughter does with the game before I commit to boosters.

Miniature Market also has the starter sets, as well as the card sleeves and the play mat.

And on a side note, I hope I'm not the only one who is using MLP card sleeves for Redemption. :)

I just received the decks today. I like that the Mane cards are double-sided for when they upgrade, and that the upgrade side is holographic.   ;D

There are foils of the starter Rarity and starter Applejack, and they are Hot Topic exclusives.

And my fave ponies are the default holos. The flip is a cool mechanic.

Guess those would make them more of a RARITY wouldn't they? :D

I never played the Star Trek game, but to me it is almost identical to Lord of the Rings. This should not be surprising considering who one of the helpers happened to be. Just check the very last name on the Credits page of the rulebook.  ;)
