I.e. does it allow you to combine the 2 sets of each deck to make a larger, better deck and/or just give you more options when playing with just the core set and then branching out into the expansions?Basically, is it worth buying a second core set off the bat or should I save my money for collecting the expansions?Buying a second Core set is worth it almost just for the extra Gandalfs and that 1 cost purple card that lets you play a ally for one turn. If you like the game just buy a second one.Now buying a third core set is a different story :p thats where the cost to fun ratio but get a little off balance.Btw if anyone is interested I would be willing to sell my Lotr LCG collection if the price is right I have....2 Core SetsMirkwood Expansions 1-6The Hobbit Saga Expansion 1How much would that generally cost? I haven't played before so I'm not really sure what the range is for the "right" price.

I was thinking around $100 since I am missing all the AP boxes (I still have the two core boxes) and inserts... but it's easy enough to download them off of FFG's website anyways.
Just got The Hunt for Gollum and The Conflict at the Carrock played both last night and enjoyed them alot the combat in the CatC was very good and the Eagles are fun anyone know how good the Journey to Rhosgobel is.

I've found this series of blog posts to be extremely helpful in getting used to deck building and constructing a competitive deck with just the core set.http://hallofbeorn.wordpress.com/beorns-path/Hope that helps.
So I've read all the way through the rules booklet but I didn't have a chance last night to actually play a solo game. With just the core set cards (given that I have 2 copies of it) is there a specific deck/hero combination that works well with the included scenarios? I know the 7 one is really tough and the intro one is really easy so I'm wondering what would work best for the 4 one and/or for ones in subsequent expansions. If I take both copies of each deck and combine them to make a 60-card deck for each sphere of influence would that be beneficial, or would it behoove me to take out some of them to get to the 50 minimum? I haven't had a chance to look through all the cards at this time (I brought them with me to work to shuffle through today but haven't gotten to them yet). Just looking for advice!EDIT: Started looking through the cards and noticed that the decks have 2 or 3 of some of the cards so combining both decks isn't an option in general. Is it worth adding second or third copies of some of the cards even if it doesn't add up to 50 or is 30/50 the only allowable deck sizes? I don't plan to play any tournaments anytime soon but I like to have legal decks nonetheless.
If you can, make a little wiggle room in your deck, AJ for a group of song cards. The cards "Song Of Kings," "Song of Travel," and "Song Of Battle" (I think that's the title) are neutral attachments. Once the card is attached, the hero who is using that card can pay for cards of a different sphere. "Song of Kings" provides Leadership to the card it's attached to, as does "Song of Travel" allow the user to have Spirit, and "Battle allow the use of Tactics. These cards are found in the adventure packs "Hunt For Gollum," "Hills Of Emyn Muil," and "Dead Marshes" respectively. And BTW, "The Voice of Isengard" expansion FINALLY came out!
