TCG: That one is complicated, I will always have a place for Yu-Gi-Oh! but Magic: the Gathering is probably a better game on the whole. If I include LCGs Android: Netrunner might make it fairly high too.

Board Game: This one is very difficult, my first thought would be Arkham Horror, but I also really love Axis and Allies.

Strategy Games: I'd like Axis and Allies as noted in the board game area. But if you move beyond table top games I also have a great love for Civilization 3, 4 and 5.

TCG: Does Hearthstone count? Probably Pokemon.
Board Games: Are these still a thing?  I don't know what constitutes a board game.
Strategy Games: Dominion

If it has a board it's a board game. Most wargames are board games, Settlers of Catan, Arkham Horror and it's younger brother Eldritch Horror, most Railroad games, most 4X games. But really tabletop games have become very diverse and there isn't much different between tabletop games with no board and board games (except you know, the board).

Yes, sort of. Iron Crown lost the license right before the movies went into production. That opened the door for other companies to create a new game, which would be The Lord of the Rings. The games played very different. Middle Earth was the best!

You may need to label your categories differently, since I have no idea what you mean by "strategy" game, since most board and card games require strategy.

1. Pokémon (in print) and Hot Wheels Acceleracers (out of print)

2. Like Doug, I am an avid board gamer, so my current favorites are Small World, 7 Wonders, Lords of Waterdeep and Flash Point.

Recategorized #3:

3a. (Non-TCG Card Game) - DC Deckbuilding Game

3b. (PC Strategy Game) - Civilization III

3c. (Console Strategy Game) - Dungeon Defenders

2. Snow Tails (most favorite all time), Templar, The Secret Treasures (most favorite at the moment), Flash Point (last most favorite before being replaced by Templar)  :)

Doug, have you guys played with the 2nd Story expansion of Flash Point? After several attempts, we have yet to defeat a 2-story fire. I didn't know if you had any suggestions for a group of 4 players.

We played 2nd Story twice. We got beat bad the first time. The second time, there was an explosion early in the game at the back corner of the second story. It did damage to the wall, so we immediately went down, put up a ladder and hacked through the rest of it to get people out. We used that ladder to save numerous people and win the game. I seem to remember we just got the last person down the ladder and into the squad below with only two or three damage blocks left. 2nd Story is a real challenge! As for suggestions, the game plays so different depending on where the initial explosions are. But, I think the key is a well placed ladder and a bit of luck.

We also have found Urban Structures to be really tough because you have to get the people into the central elevators and take them down a level to get them out. If you don't have a medic treating people and several firefighters pulling them out of the building, you won't win.

I truly enjoy Flash Point and expansions. It is a modern classic.

That's actually a helpful tip. The wall is already damaged so you're not losing much to knock it down, and then you are attacking the fire directly in addition to creating an escape route. The first couple of games we tried to use the stairs, but with fire feeding in from both levels, it seemed the stairs were always on fire so we could not get the victims out. We then tried the ladders, but they are so time-consuming to carry victims out. We'll try your approach next time, assuming one of the initial explosions is near a wall.

We also have found Urban Structures to be really tough because you have to get the people into the central elevators and take them down a level to get them out. If you don't have a medic treating people and several firefighters pulling them out of the building, you won't win.

I have not tried that expansion yet, but the board looked more challenging, especially with the elevators.

I truly enjoy Flash Point and expansions. It is a modern classic.

We have enjoyed it, too. My 8-year-old loves being the Imaging Technician so she can reveal the true victims and not waste time with false alarms. Of course, she also just wants to find the dog and cat, whom she would save first even if she had to bypass human victims.  ;)
