I have never played #'s 3,6,7,8,13,14,15 so I cannot comment on them

Personally Here is my top 10.

1. Axis and Allies (and all the expansions..Especially pacific!)
2. History of the World
3. Shogun/Samarai Swords
4. Dominion
5. Aquire
6. Acquire
7. Settlers of Catan (esp, Cities and Knights Expansion..actually I love to mix them all up like seafarers with Cities and nights..Exploration and Megalopolisis!  Fun Fun Fun!)
8.Fortress America ( I dont currently own this one, but I loved playing it with Mark...Once...Loooooong ago!)
9. Railroad Tycoon
10.1960; the making of a president (only played this once but I liked it!)

We're more casual gamers, we play games that you play with friends and don't mind if you don't follow the rules. So here's our favorites:

Catch Phrase (similar to taboo, if we have a younger crowd we play this)

There are obviously two different types of Board gamers signing on to this thread.  Those that are gamers for life and those that game on occasion.

The issue here is that pre-hardcore board gamers "occasional ones" are wary about dropping $60-70 on a game that may or may not be fun.  Breaking this barrier requires a gamer for life to evangelize said games.

Yeah the really good board games are very expensive. Dominion is the only one that I've played so far that I liked enough to spend a lot of money on.
